So after waiting for Rans thread on ctr and his tests on using clicks to influence for months and him being banned I figure i would do my own mini test, very small budget but worth a try.

Firstly I read the following 2 articles claiming CTR actually is a signal so I decided to try.
CTR Is a Raning Factor Case

Does CTR Help SEO

Keyword (not actually the keyword)
Best Mountain Bike -

2400 unique monthly
Low competition
Current Position #5

Bought from serpclix $100 worth of traffic aka about 500 us and europe ips to go in and click my listing and stay on site for a bit as naturally as possible. Did this for 5 days.

Day 1 Position #4
Day 2 Position #4
Day 3 Position #4
Day 4 Position #4
Day 5 Position #4
Day 6 Position #4

Conclusion: Not sure what to say here, the keyword has fairly low competition and a huge boost in ctr technically should have at least boosted it one position but nothing happened. Probably will refrain from buying any more ctr clicks unless i see someone having huge success, if its a question of I didnt get enough clicks bought, for $100 buying any more clicks to move on position on a 2400 unique keyword would not at all be worth it.

I will watch this discussion. I did a kind of an internal test myself with an automated software and it really helped but not for long and I also hated to "artificialy" inflate my clicks.

you just rose to #2 of doing dumb shit to prove others wrong on my personal list form this forum. congrats.
cant tell you who #1 is, cause he is banned..

i know, I am bit behind doing dumb shit atm, I had to focus on not doing dumb shit for a while

ROFL ~ dont forget to tell them to write good content. ^^

Are you serious? Could you please share more details?

Basically you can rank anything, content doesn't necessarily need to be good probably just at a good level of english. However if you want natural backlinks and people actually sharing your stuff great content and ctr are great. Its easy to do so why not

Thanks. Now that does make sense. Then obviously you would have to tweak your content to improve conversion later once you got your ranking sorted out.

Well same here for a 6 months old site, ranking on the top 10 for multiple keywords for low competitive keywords but no matter what on page tweak I do they are not moving on the top 5 even though my content length is bigger then theirs & on page was tweaked to the perfection!
