Best to assume the worst.... Authorities have advanced tracking software across most chains. Unknown if privacy coins have been cracked. Smart play would be to not publicize it if they had been.

No, it’s not anonymous because there’s a strict registry of addresses. Truly anonymous coins are Monero and Grin.
