Yes and not just Facebook.

However, i think the most important thing these days is rather know what you're doing. Is the offer compliant? The ads? Have you all the policies placed? etc.. Getting to know the rules and abide by them is one of the most important factors on Facebook. The company secures the platform with algos and they will ban you in a flash. Yes you can recover your account in most cases but the downtime to get an answer from them is something you'll have to deal with.

Cost per action + Facebook is profitable, however, keep in mind the industry or product you are advertising. Every platform is viable if the cost of client acquisition is less than the revenue.

Assuming you are new to this; It's quite the learning curve and involves some solid preparation and thought put into that. Its recommended to use an agency or do a good course on the matter. Otherwise its highly likely that you lose your ad spend and nothing will really happen. Depends on many factors like others said. If it is converting, it can be profitable.

Yes , but its pretty hard these days. There are a lot of people making good money with BH verticals and cloaking. Or if you have access to good offers/direct advertisers , lead gen is also a good way to get started.
