Is Coronavirus affecting your web traffic?

Yes, I see an impact, about 15% loss for yesterday, and today seems even worse. Rankings are unchanged across the board.

It's foolish to think that when people are at home, it will lead to increase of website traffic across the whole spectre... Surely, entertainment and news sites (and surely also most forums) are getting a huge boost.

But when daily activities people do offline (work, school, culture, sports) are affected, so are millions of websites that are somehow related to such activities. Not to say that when recession is looming (which means losses of jobs and income will follow), people consider much more whether they buy this or that product (which they do not necessarily need, but normally would buy simply because they want to)....

Traffic is fine. Sales for me are fine (where low after the firm UK PM announcement week or two ago but its recovered) added 1 or 2 new products to take advantage of the situation and they have done really well.

Friends I have who sell higher ticket items £450+ have seen a drop in sales to almost 0, I think people are spending money on other things...
