I own two blogs of same niche but one blog is totally dead as i used to copy articles from other sites and blogs. I also wrote few hundreds of unique articles to revive it but in vain. No traffic, no earning and no ranking. :(:(

Then I started my second blog with complete new design and unique articles. The blog is getting good traffic. ;);)

So what i propose now is since my first blog is dead, I wish to copy my hand written unique articles from first blog which are no where indexed in google and post them to my second blog. I am also planning to delete my first blog completely.:rolleyes:

Please suggest is it right to do so or will it also take down my second blog. As i dont want to ruin my second blog.:confused:

I think you can use the old content. i didn't tried this before. But i hope it would work. Pls share your result. Good luck. :)

Great suggestion above. "Do this, but I never did it, so I don't know what will happen" and "Use Copyscape" because Copyscape and Google are the same...

If your blog is dead - dont use the content - surely Google knows about it already. Why you want to risk? Instead either 301 it to new blog or create a "Farewell" message and link to your blog.
In both situations you get some out of the old site.

As long as it's unique content I assume it is safe. But make sure the content on the old blog is not indexed.

What Aty said. Google's duplicate content penalties only apply to duplicate content which is readily available through them - ie indexed. If you're the only one with a particular live article, you'll be fine. Obviously you need to own the copyright, which you do in this case.

If it is not indexed and they pass copyscape you're good to go...
