Of course your videos and thumbnails have to be good but from what I have seen, unless you know some secret tricks, you have to upload during a long period of time and maybe youtube will start suggesting your videos. I remember back in 2015, I had 2 channels that got lot of views & subs and I simply made 2-3 videos and shared them on social medias, this was enough to get that initial traction but nowadays it feels like this isn't enough. It feels like you need to make content for few months before having a chance for the algorithm to pick your video.
Maybe I am wrong, what do you guys think?

While I agree that consistency plays a big role in YouTube success, I don't think the reason why YouTube doesn't promote your videos is because you haven't hit a threshhold of uploading continously for X months. From YouTube's perspective this would not be a good business decision, since videos with great engagement and viewer retention generate more ad revenue than low engagement videos.

If users are always searching for your content in high volume using relevant keywords, it won't take long to get traction. Finding a good Niche like this with low competition is difficult sometimes. You have to find that good Niche.

Of course you need to do a lot more because the competition is a lot more nowadays, consistency is and was always the key but consistency alone won't free you
