Hi, I'd like to buy Bitcoin or preferably ethereums, but I live in a country where coinbase is not supported, so I have asked a close friend of mine to buy it on my behalf. I wanted to know is it safe to buy from coinbase ? I heard they don't let you have keys or will block your account for no reason ? If this is the case if there any other alternative I can use that accepts my country ?

BTW I was thinking of investing some of my savings into crypto, I know nothing is risk free but I can hold this investment for up-to 1 year, do you think it will be a good idea ?

Although I could not say it is safe or not, I'm pretty sure you will find complaints about every company online.
 
Yeap totally agree with complaints for everything. The thing is you can't be sure about anything and i see most people these days with the big push of cryptos are very skeptical and they can't thing clear.

With legit trading platforms you buy/sell in 30 seconds, not 1-2 weeks.

If it take that time 99% they use your money for their convenience / is a Ponzi scheme

I have never used them so I cannot say. Only ones I have used are local bitcoins and coinify (Who are recommended by blockchain if you have a wallet there).
 
btc-e.com - in TOP5 exchanges and works without verification
and there is also a risk to get your account blocked though

What if you don't have a wallet ? Can we purchase Ethereums with them.

I only really know about bitcoin and for that you need a wallet to store them. I dont know about ethereums...
 
Guys what is the best and safest site for buying ethereums ? I tried conify but they are not available in my country, so my only bet is to use my friend's account.

To buy/ sell/ trade crypto currencies try Kraken or Poloniex.

Are there any platforms that accpet Paypal ?
 
I went with coinbase yesterday as localbitcoins is not supported in my country and it worked pretty good. Verification was easy and fast and I got my money really fast after my bank wire. I used that money to buy ETH and BTC and got both a few minutes after I bought them. The only problem is the quite high fees.
