Exactly what it says on the tin. If I have decent content and a locker, would buying hundreds of thousands of visitors pay off? Anyone tried this?

Depends where it comes from. Most of it is bot rubbish I've found.

Depends on the traffic source, structure, and many other qualities of the traffic. If you want to know the result, usually you just have to try it.
But if you intend to use the content locker then you should probably develop at least some sort of filter and rotate the content and CPA offers, people have to interested in the content or they are not going to complete the offer. eg. if you promise show The leaked video of Justin Bieber to someone who hates him, why would he even pay attention?

For the most part no. Im sure there are a few decent places to buy traffic but you will just have to buy small batches and test and if you find one that is converting well then scale it up.

Are you trying to lower your CTR? Then yes it's perfect. If not then it's kind of a waste depending on what you are doing with it.

On paid traffic from the BST, who is good for human traffic and what's an expected conversion rate? 1%? Less?

Paid traffic..... the good type is expensive.
It is not $10 for 10,000 visitors..... trust me.

content locking with paid traffic works.... but you must have to have content they really really really want...

So as long as it's high-quality, unique, must-have content it should be worth it? I saw a thread offering 100k visitors for $33, and the users (supposedly) stay on your page for a bit, long enough to click ads and such. But this may not be trustworthy?

if you want junk traffic then it will surely not convert but if you buy expensive traffic then it might work

Has anyone bought traffic before? Any users/sites they can recommend for this service? I'm looking for real human visitors, not bot traffic.

I sell traffic so i might sound a bit biased but the truth is, it can convert for some but not everybody

I get a lot of people who buy traffic expecting it to convert and if it doesn't they threaten to leave negative feedback in return. What you have to do is picture yourself as the visitor, all the traffic I sell is pop under so in order to keep the visitor interested the page must look nice and professional and be related, not some poor looking squeeze page that's barely related to the user, it has to be something they are passionate about

good example - you run a golf e-store and buy some golf related traffic, the visitor will most likely be on a golf news site and he goes to leave he notices your site is open, its a nice looking landing page with some great deals on well known brands, maybe even has a verified by visa/paypal badge and HTTPS - the chance of this visitor converting is HIGH

Like I said tho its hit and miss, this year about 40% to 45% of my clients reorder so that paints a picture on the percentage of people who can get this traffic to convert

Alright. I think I'll be going for it! Thanks everyone for your input; this is why I love BHW.

consider that I made thousands before off of cheap traffic I say yes, But then again I went exteremly Blackhat on their asses

I wouldn't look into paid traffic to convert, things don't work out so nicely like that. Especially if you are using adsense, it's just not worth it. Buying and dripping organic traffic to give your site that boost you need, that's worth it imo.
