Is buying links based on DR still relevant in 2025?

I ask because most link providers list this as a measurement , but not traffic quantity/quality
It was never very important, at least the past few years. Because, many sites have high DR but do not rank.

Sellers who market their links solely on the such metrics are out to get buyers who don't know what to look out for. Backlinks quality, traffic quantity and quality are better metrics to focus on. If you look through the marketplace you should be able to find sellers whose services prioritizes those over DR.

Do you have a provider you recommmend and have used before? thanks for the comment

You will easily see people hyping DR easily on fiverr in just few dollars. So yes this is not at all an important matric.

DR alone does not guarantee quality or real influence. Traffic quality and relevancy should be your priority when buying links.

You should always check the domain on all aspects like Traffic, Keywords Ranking, Referring domains, Content. All should be in right flow which makes the website worth getting links from. Also by visiting the website, you can easily tell whether a link coming from this website would help you or harm in long run!
Lately even traffic in most of the third party tools can be manipulated by ranking for very spammy low KD keywords or with the help of bots! So you should have your own understanding of picking the right website instead of going after those Metrics!
Good Luck

I'm not allowed to do that. No one is. Since you know what you want, why not go through thee marketplace and search, choose a seller and ask them if they can deliver exactly what you want. Be clear about what you want because any ambiguity may result in some sellers delivering something else.

The most important thing with backlinks acquisition is knowing what you want.

It's a metric from a third-party tool (Ahrefs) that determines the strength of the backlink profile of a site. However, it shouldn't be the only factor to consider. You should also focus on other metrics such as niche, traffic, traffic location, and ranked keywords. The reason they highlight it is that it has the highest value to showcase something.

Domain rating refers to understand the quality of backlink profile. Domain authority is actually not a Google ranking factor and many SEO experts say that it has no effect on the SERPs. But, mostly Google keeps a tight lip on how exactly certain websites rank. Therefore, my guess is that we do not completely ignore domain rating / domain authority.

My site has actually not very high DA but ranks still pretty good. I think backlinks and stuff like that helps, but you should not forget that your content matters most. If you have exlcusive content then just invest more in site structure and also speed / performance.
Google likes sites with good user experience.

Buying links based on Domain Rating (DR) is still a common practice in 2025, but its effectiveness and risks depend on how it’s done.

DR isn’t a direct ranking factor, but it’s crucial when building backlinks for a website. Even if a link from a high DR site doesn’t drive traffic, it still passes valuable link equity or 'link juice' that boosts your site’s ranking potential.

Think of it like the relationship between a medical professor and a practicing doctor. A professor doesn’t treat patients, but their expertise is essential for training doctors who do. Similarly, high DR sites may not send visitors, but they empower your site’s authority and SEO performance.

Note : this apply to all metrics as it all inter connect like pa-da moz metrics to trust flow etc, After all its one of metrics we should look into.

Domain Rating (DR) is still a useful metric, but it doesn’t guarantee traffic or ranking improvements. Focus on link relevance, traffic quality, and natural placement rather than just DR. A high-DR link with no real engagement won’t help much in 2025.

Backlinks with High DA PA or DR could result in better rankings -> better traffic. However it doesn't mean that all backlinks from High DA/DR sites can guarantee that. Same technique but different practices deliver different results. So you need to learn how to do it right.

Solely focusing on the DR link is not good and it also depends on the quality of the backlinks. You can consider checking the relevancy of the domain, quality of the backlinks, traffic history, content, etc. of the website.
