Is blogging very hard now?

97% of bloggers quit after the 4 months mark. Of those that continue, 99.999% will fail. Think what you want, but it is a bad investment if you ask me. Knowing what I know now, I would not have wasted all this time doing something that will bear no fruit.

Put a better way---97% of QUITTERS quit, because that's what quitters tend to do. The other 3% get lucky, even though they still had/have a quitter's mentality.

I can’t speak for others, but it’s common for bloggers to shift focus over time. Many explore new opportunities or adapt their skills to different fields, reflecting changes in interests or market trends. Have you considered why you’re thinking about a change?
 
Setting up a blog hasn't become harder but became easier with various tools, knowledge and writing assistance. The harder thing now is to get attention of the readers as there is lots of content and blogs available in every niche. And to get that you need to do blogging strategically. So you can still think of doing the blogging but if you are planning to create a basic blog then it might not be successful. It will require enough time and dedication.
 
Depends heavily on your exact situation and niche, but overall I would say that it is way harder than a few years ago.

1. Googles AI overview walls potential traffic off
2. Theres a lot of content generated en masse with AI on other websites
3. Many People use AIs directly instead of googling

So yeah, many recent developments have made it harder, but you can also use this to your advantage. Build yourself infrastructure to generate content in an efficient way, or value high quality content and get your traffic from other sources than search engines to kickstart your project.

I suggest growing social media presences and get people on your website from there. Sometimes older tools like email marketing work way better than expected for some audiences as they are under the radar for many.
 
It is harder, but it's normal to become harder over time.

Still, if you grab a good domain, you'll have decent chances of success, but no guarantees unfortunately.
 
It's slowly getting tough. I had 3 websites in March bringing in decent revenue. One of them has been hit quite severely by the google core updates and the other 2 sites seem stuck too (in terms of growth). Starting from scratch is even more difficult :weep:

It is hard to leave blogging when you have seen success with it . I still have some blogs even though some blogs got punished by updates .
 
No blog is not hard if you know the right way, it all depends on the niche you have selected and the amount of competition. If you select a niche, let's say SEO or accounting then you are going to have a hard time finding your place. choose the niche smartly and do the work in the right way. Do the proper research, if you do all that then you can turn a blogging into profitable blogging without facing any hard work, yes hard work is required but in a right way.
 
Blogging is become very challenging due to a huge competition and algorithm changes but it is still very worthy if doing with enthusiasm and consistently.

@Mukeshwar Singh, I think affiliate marketing can be a great way to monetize content, but it’s not as easy as it used to be. With all the changes in SEO and Google’s algorithms, it’s harder to get the kind of organic traffic you need to make good money from affiliate links.

That said, if you can build a strong audience or find a niche that isn’t overly saturated, affiliate marketing still has potential. It just requires more strategic planning and maybe a mix of different traffic sources, like social media or email marketing, to really make it work. So, it’s definitely worth considering, but it’s not a guaranteed success like it might have been years ago.

I totally agree. It feels like the days when people searched for answers and found blogs are fading. Now, it’s AI-generated content and big names like Forbes dominating the results. And you’re right, e-commerce is still holding strong because AI can’t fully replace those commercial searches.

Those ‘Best’ listicle sites still seem to rank well, but even that’s becoming more programmatic and competitive. It just shows how much the landscape has changed and how tough it is to stay relevant as a blogger these days.
 
Well i would say its hard bot not so dificult .Also i would not depend only on it for traffic and i would use youtube also for example
 
Its been easier so far nowadays as google is crawling the AI content so fast , that one site 2 months aged is crawling and getting upto 5k traffic in max 2 months .
 
All about communities now. Something tangible and real with real human interaction.
