Is blog content evergreen?

I've always been against maintaining a blog, because you have to keep adding content. I've always preferred just making a website with evergreen content. But, is some blog content evergreen? If the information in the blog posts is evergreen, will those blog posts still get search engine traffic for many years?

It really depends, but people do look up dated information all of the time. Let's say you run a sports blog and you wrote about a particular game, then someone decided to look up information about that game years later, you'd still be "relevant" to them.

In many cases most evergreen niches end up being some of the most competitive so you can normally capitalize on blogging for later users. I wouldn't recommend blogging this way though, simply add content because you want and add content that you find interesting.

Don't just add content because organic search algorithms may find it useful.

Adding content not only increase the size of your site over time(showing that it is an authority site), it also provides useful interlinking between the articles.

Moreover, it keeps the visitors coming back for more.

When it comes to blogging you need to post contents regularly to keep your visitors updated with the latest trends. If you're not interested to post contents regularly, you will loose organic traffic and end up with nothing. To keep a good traffic flow you should post great unique contents on regular basis, so that your visitors will get engaged with your website and visit your site often for valuable information you post. Focus on writing quality contents, over a course of time your website will get good authority and page rank.

There are a lot of static topics which never change. Like information about the sun, information about animals, anything static, I hope you get the idea. When you have a blog post about such a topic, why would it be out of date in 10 years?

Agree with impossible time restricted topics are less than those that never change or evergreen. It just so happens that a fair few in demand subjects are time restricted.

There are lots of evergreen topics with good traffic flow.

if the site is a web2.0 site then traffic can continue though you post only evergreen article.

Yeah, static topics is also a good idea too. But, when it comes to your niche, Am not sure. Also, You want traffic for your blog long term. Then you have to add new interesting things. The most important thing is to keep the visitors on your sites and convert them into leads.

It depends on the type of content you're producing.

News and time-sensitive stuff must be kept updated. So if your blog is about "the latest cameras" then yes you obviously gotta keep updating it.

But timeless content is evergreen, such as math tutorials, school stuff that never changes, beginning-something tutorials, etc

Quality content drives more traffic in real.. Content would be evergreen at any point of time if it has greater quality. Even it has greater quality, we need to focus on latest topics..
