Is blog commenting still working? How?

It's only good for traffic now.

Like you already know, most good blogs are either moderated or don't allow website links.

You just have to do it for the fun of it otherwise you can easily get pissed off.

If you are doing it for traffic, you just have to find blogs moderated blogs in your niche.

Blog comments still work but if you do it manually finding high authority blogs. but if you are doing automation its not going to work, i did an experiment few months back where i had ranked my site simply doing high authority blog comments.

I use gsa, properly configured it can leave very good quality comments on taregtted blogs. I make a few each month for link diversity and check on them to make sure they aren't spammy (and most of them get human replies)

The difference is that in the past a blog comment blast or a Xrumer forum spam blast was all that was needed.

Now they work just fine as part of a mix most people use them in a varied link profile and don't rely on them adding more than, say 10-15% of their links -
That said, some in the churn-and-burn end of SEO still get away with blasts, albeit in a slightly modified and more refined way.

Scritty

Blog commenting definitely works if you can scrape your own lists of auto approve sites that not every person in the world has found.
