Hey all,

So over the last few months started looking into bitcoin and blockchain and ethereum and everything in between, with the hopes of starting my own blockchain company.

Started noticing more and more companies jumping on the block chain bandwagon and offering to solve the issues businesses facing through use of the chain - and some of them are thriving.

Also reading a few articles I've been reading keep mentioning that it's going to disrupt a load of industries (banking, insurance etc).

Is it just me though or is what's happening with bitcoin prices at the moment similar to the .com bubble back in the day?

Is it only a matter of time before this whole thing goes tits up? Or would it be best to try get in on it now so can try wide the wave for as long as possible?

It's a thread where I talk about just that, and a crop of morons with no real financial literacy tell me how dumb I am while their precious bitcoin plummets and the entire crypto concept begins to fall apart.

Hey there!

Thanks for the comment and the link, seems to be a hell of a lot of information in there!

Had a quick skim through it and there sure are some contrasting view points! A nice bit of reading for the bus tomorrow!

What's your background in if you don't mind me asking?

Finance :D

Played fake stock trading with my Dad starting when I was seven, so twenty years ago. Learned the actual stuff from him when I was ten. That's when I was taught personal finance, interest rates, and all that fun stuff. Turned it into a degree in accounting, and I've been in financial analytics in the fields of gambling, subprime banking, and more recently transportation and logistics.

Debating a CPA or Series 7 in the near future.

Damn that's quite the impressive background alright!
So long story short you know your shit!

How long do you think in your opinion before all this shit blows up in people's faces?

He doesn't have one. He packed it in when he noticed the market was too volatile. Oh, the irony.

I like Sherb`s, but I disagree with his views. The entire crypto concept begins to fall apart, eh? Have you seen the past year? Bitcoin was overdue for a correction. Down to around $5000 is my estimate.

Either way, we'll see what happens.

You forgot to mention that you have watched the Big Short three times. I think that is the highlight of your career.

Personally I think Bitcoin will crash at some point, and never regain its value. All this you see now is nothing more than a fad. Once the fad dies, so will the value of Bitcoin, leaving behind many burnt fingers.

The problem is, we have too many kids shouting and screaming as though they are the next big thing. In reality they are just very inexperienced children playing with their pocket money. So my advice would be whatever you are told about Bitcoin, just take it with a pinch of salt.

No one is willing to listen anything against bitcoin and other crypto on this forum. Price just doesn't go in one direction (up or down) without any correction (retracement). We will see a healthy retracement in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies at some point and that's a fact. When that will happen... That's the point.. There is a reason why we don't see a lot of successful contrarian traders out there.

Also lots of these ICO's with no real value will tank too. There will be some winners but they will be only a few..

Once the dark side of society exists, the bitcoin will never die I think, it may drop the value, but it will be still accepted by "those people". It may got affected heavily by next generation Quantum things, but there are still some years, from what I read.

Well, no money to play in bitcoin and ethererum, I have to say lost 2 big opportunities.
