typical ways of spamming are being detected more easily & often, it still works, just getting harder & less profitable,
investing in good geniune links is still considered BH and not dying any time soon with the rate SEO is changing,

most importanly, SEO & building links is still one of the most profitable business-models for people who know how to do the work,
as long as there's positive & decent ROI, it's simply not going anywhere
 
It still works because there are lots of way to trick the google nowadays.
 
It's not dying, just changing. Although google is becoming strict , people are finding new tricks
 
Actually some of black hat SEO Method still working. But those method are not for long term.

Some black hat SEO methods still work, but they aren't effective long-term. Google is getting stricter, but people are finding new tricks.
 
It is true that Google has been increase its algorithms to combat black hat SEO tactics, but whether black hat SEO will "die" entirely is not true. While black hat SEO is becoming increasingly risky and less effective, it may not entirely disappear, but it will likely play a much smaller role in the future of SEO.
 
When people can't handle competition, they use the words like 'it is dead'.
