Again, this was a great thread, and has caused action by quite a few members I'm sure. Hopefully it serves as a wake up for members to approach journeys with skepticism, and see thinly-veiled sales attempts for what they really are.

I would love to see you write a thread about mistakes you've made and lessons learned from them. We are severely lacking in that respect content-wise.

I feel the same although it's the minority that makes me feel this way.

For example, although it seems legit, people making threads to see if people are interested in a service is surely a marketing decoy, as they can easily get a pre-sale list before opening up their service which I believe isn't allowed. If this was allowed, everyone would do it to raise hype for their new service and to get a list of members who are interested in buying.

Another example is a sales thread that makes claims that are obviously not true. One case is when a seller stated that all content is written by industry experts. So if this is true, if my niche is heaters, will I have an expert in the field of heaters writing my content?
 
This thread is definitely a good share. Why? Because it gives you practical examples of BS, and not just, "is BHW going downhill?" generic thread.

Can't believe that I actually fell in those noob traps. Lesson learned. My skin should be much hardened by now. But then again, there's always something new that surprises you.

Anyway, maybe I'm wrong, and those guys are actually legit, so perhaps @GrumpyBoy for instance, may actually have a word (in case you didn't see the thread).

Everyone makes their method different with a twist and unless ppl post about it no one learns new ways to make money.

There nothing wrong with people that provide services or products ,doing a thread on there working methods ,and then offering there services and products , it show it works and encourages sales and good for business.

The idea is you read a thread and get on with it , you're suppose to improve the method earn and help to improve the posters earnings with your findings.

If you understood the method you wouldn't need his product or ask questions that easy.

I saw on a sales thread that some guy was selling an e-book about reskinning games, good for him I said. I read the thread, only good reviews, awesome book, blablabla.
PS. I won't post links for the threads here because if you are a BHW lurker I'm sure you know which threads I'm talking about.
So, as I said only good reviews, saw many users thou with only a few posts reviewing the product which got my attention. Those users joined this forum only to buy the product? Do they buy reviews, do they make fake BHW accounts? Can't asnwer to these questions, but I went further.
I started to contact the users who purchased the product and asked them for an honest opinion and all of those who have replied me back, said that the e-book is not worth buying. Were they lying or not, I cannot say, yet I didn't purchase the e-book.
The question was: Why so many perfect reviews on the sale thread and bad reviews from the buyers?

when ppl see something it takes 30 sec via law of averages to make our mind up to buy a product or service, so ppl even get really excited and
without even reading the pdf method just leave a great review because they think if the advertised product looks good the pdf will even be better.

That business, and a well written sales page, and good for them, not everybody got time to go back to a method or product to review it from it contents .

The reviews was not lies they just felt after reading the pdf that it was not for them.

Some methods involve a lot of programming or computer application help and ppl are very lazy.

of course there say the pdf ant worth getting if there to much work to do it , that normal.

a lot of ppl expect straight money making miracles.

so we no i need to find a iphone 8 deal , so i no ppl love a free gift , so i search the internet and forums for the best affiliate deal for a free iphone 8 affiliate deal,
so i joined the affiliate deal.

i then design a nice looking landing page for the iphone 8 free deal.
i also no that ppl are getting ban from links so i need a cloak to protect my links,

what i done, i buy a iphone 8 article, and sent all the bots from bing to the iphone article , this gave me a super high roi with bing and stopped bans from my account.

i new this would work tried and tested hard from me, and loads of pro on this website.

No one trying to get you to buy anything as i said most ppl buy within 30sec of seeing a product or service.

blackhatworld forum is a grate place to get all your marketing idea and bots and methods , you can search the whole internet and your find loads of forum
and your get loads of fake dummy stupid info on internet marketing.

There is no forum better then blackhatworld forum.

I think you need to stop complaining and do the methods your looking at and bank.

BHW was never lame. Problem is that IM is for intelligent and hardworking people. It's for cunning people who can handle uncharted lands without a manual. There must be a singular moment in time when you stop reading and start doing. Everyone has to decide for themselves what is pyrite and what is gold. I found a lot of gold here, a lot of smart and helpful people that provided few missing jigsaw pieces I personally needed.

I'm not as active here as before, coz I'm grinding, and enjoying a lot of time away from screens. I wish you all the same. :)
 
i saw the game reskin thread the op was talking about and some other similar ones. They are full of nice comments and good reviews, while in fact, their ebooks are pure garbage. First thing you notice is that these ebooks look ugly, English is broken and text formatting is wrong. When you finish reading them, you realize that you wasted your 20 minutes for 40-60 pages of nothing useful. I read several such ebooks and I have only found 2 or 3 useful things, while everything other was just their ranting and some noob talk about how everyone is stupid so we should abuse them, while not providing any useful advice... I have myself noticed that this forum has gone down lately.
 
My philosophy: don't lurk on here. Get your information, start working, check back for more information if needed.

Seriously, this forum is great for providing information, but it's also very demotivating and annoying sometimes with all the people asking VERY basic questions and complaining that something isn't working for them.

I'll start out by saying great thread OP as it did get me thinking. It certainly made me think about what I share and how I share things. I also think a lot of great points have been raised about everyone contributing when they can and calling out those who have something to say but have not shared anything meaningful themselves. Being someone who is relatively new to the forum maybe I don't have the perspective of many of you who have been here a long time. I can say from lurking a lot before I joined and the long time I have been reading threads on this forum that I could not agree more with what @Fragmaster said below with how it does take the right person to really benefit from all the info here. I find great info all of the time and certainly dont in any way think BHW is becoming lame so I dont agree with that and I did see that you mentioned that the title could have been better so I'm not trying to put a dig in or anything. I think that there will always be shite threads and there will always be amazing gold nuggets here are there too. That's the way it will always be.

The way people earn and work is changing and lots more people are selling online or making money in some fashion from affiliate marketing or a blog. So more and more people are going to be coming here and reading things that have been posted. I think that more and more people are seeking information about how to succeed so there will always be sellers, scammers there to fill the void and sell info to them whether it's good info or not. I dont think that means things are getting worse around here. I just think it means things are growing a lot faster so there will always be lots of noobs to feed into this sort of thing.

Like I say though this has made me think about what I personally share such as the app I was using to schedule posts that I had in my signature. Being an affiliate of that company (which I made clear) may give people the wrong impression or make them think I was after a few bucks if they signed up via that link so instead I have taken it down. I'm not saying anyone sharing stuff in their signature space is wrong and I know people can do that but I personally didn't want anyone getting the wrong idea from that. In the future if anyone asks what I personally use in some of the methods I share I will simply tell them the name of the tool and they can check it out for themselves without any recommendation or links from me. So thanks for making me think more about that.

What I'm hearing from this thread is that there is a gap in the marketplace for an ebook that is well formatted, has good content, and delivers on its promises. Time to add another project to my list.

Thats true, it took me 3 years of being on this forum to even post my first thread, and only because I was really excited about the results, and I had promised people on my page that I would do a case study.
But OP should not be surprised, these things are happening everywhere...BHW is very strict and will keep removing them and banning those people.
 
i worked with ebooks, great long term project, i dont know does amazon still prints books for you
 
There is nothing wrong with "constructive criticism" from our members. In fact, we welcome it.

There are some useful points being made in this thread and it gives us (the staff) some things to consider.

The option to thumb down/negative rep was alive back in the day which you should know
