Basic Privacy Protection (or Basic Protection): Regulations vary around the globe, but GoDaddy automatically hides your name, street address, phone number and email address in the GoDaddy WHOIS directory for every registered domain name. Based on current ICANN regulations, your state/province, country and organization name (if you have one) will still be displayed.

I mean covering up the name and street address seems good enough for me. (but I am new to hosting, not sure if I missed something important) Please advice.

Godaddy is the worst company. Try Namecheap instead.
Thank you for the head up. but Godaddy is giving me $4.99 for the first year of a .com. I plan to try out my project, if it works out as I plan, then I transfer it to other registers.

Do yourself a favor and spend an extra couple of bucks at Namecheap or Porkbun. You will save yourself from a potentially huge (and maybe catastrophic) headache.

Just do a quick search here on bhw to see how bad (and untrustworthy) godaddy is.

I don't know anything bad they did to me, what could it possible be?

Yes. Godaddy has a bad name already.
Would you recommend any EU domain registers ?

Thank you I just checked namecheap. The are also having promotion now.
Please register your domain on namecheap fast. Since you looked up a domain on their platform, what they do is buy that domain name themselves within 48-64 hours and then you can only buy that domain from their platform and that too at a higher price. This is the kind of shit why GoDaddy has a bad rep for.

And their "Basic Privacy Protection" Which they sell for like 5 extra dollars and often discount it for free is a scam. Literally every domain name registrar that's worth its salt will include that for free. What GoDaddy does it sells a domain for say 5$ and charge an extra 5$ for the protection while another registrar like namecheap will sell the domain name for 7-10$ with the basic protection included.

Don't register your domains with GoDaddy! Any domain that asks you to pay WHOIS privacy Run away from them! Scam.

If you want privacy and you don't want to use your personal information you can use crypto payments with fake information or njal.la

https://njal.la (prós: doesn't ask for any information about you!!)

https://alexhost.com/domains/ (accept Bitcoin, Monero (XMR), litecoon, Dashcoin and is Anonymously)

Forget Namecheap, GoDaddy, Hostinger if your idea and focus are privacy!
Good luck.
