My affiliate site is just starting to get some descent conversions and a bit of traffic. Only about 20-25 unique visits per day, but conversions are very high. Kind of I am somewhere on the G's page 1 for about 80 long-tail phrases.

I would like to increase traffic with auto-blogs but I am currently on a good terms with Big G. and would not like to mess things up.

Has anybody who is currently doing auto-blogs seen his site's loose G's page 1 position?

Yes I've had several sites deindexed by big G after several months on page 1.

1st mistake is using google analytics. I basically gave G a search warrant for my site.
Other factor is not making my articles "unique" to G's checking algorithm. If you're using adsense make sure you lower ctr to under 1%...etc.

Only consolation is I've made enough to not really care :);):D

eventually autoblogs do get bumped down. what you need to do is some additional SEO on top of natural traffic and rankings from keywords/domain/content.

check out the services section on BHW, there's plenty of cheap/kick ass stuff that'll boost your page.

use yahoo site explorer to check on your competitions backlinks as well as yourself.

never use analytics, use the wordpress statpress plugin instead, or any other means except analytics actually lol. whatever you like.

you might want to consider sending some purchased traffic so a site WITHOUT ADSENSE AND ANALYTICS. What I do is I keep a separate spreadsheet and record of my autoblogs, some are WH and some are BH. Obviously the whitehat ones have adsense and are totally legit with white hat seo. for the others though, I'll get some rankings, monetize by many different means and then send some bulk traffic to those for shits and giggles. check out trafficera.com or trafficholder.com for websites that offer traffic. Check out the services section here on BHW once again for some sweeter deals on pricing for people who send traffic. When in doubt always rely on fellow BHW members because they always help each other out.

This might have been significantly longer of a response than necessary.

The answer is yes, autoblogs are safe, when done correctly.

Send me a pm if you want anymore help.

You need to treat an autoblog like a normal website/blog.
That means, get a nice template, try target a specific niche (keywords).

I like to post no more than 1 post per day, everything more than that is "unreal".
How many new blogs so you see gets updates more than 1 time per day? Hell, most dont even get updated ones per week.

Try to make it look "human updated" and you will be fine.

I can understand why not to use paid traffic, from some advertising channel different from Google, when you have AdSense on your site.

But why should Google drop my SERPS if I am bringing in the same paid traffic and using G's Analytic? Is it because I am helping their competition?

i think the decisive factor is not whether you are using autoblog or normal blog, but is the way you use autoblog
