Article Submission is one of the most powerful way to get quality traffic.I always consider some factors during writing articles and submitting to several directories. After the recent algorithm changing of Google I don't know exactly how much effective is article submission now this time.I am giving here those factors for your evaluation.

1.Building Incoming Links
2.Building Reputation
3.Making website more useful and unique
4.Improving Organic Search Result
5.Increasing Traffic.

I always try to maintain article submission as a freelancer for my client's project. But still it is effective?Experts suggest please.

Thanks!

article submissions are not very effective anymore. you should turn those articles that you have written into guest blog posts, or send to other sites for them to use as a review (you will probably have to pay a little for this)

Here's a thought: Why not turn those articles into PDFs, softwares, or videos? There's tons of info on how to do this on here in the download section and turn it into other types of content quickly, cheaply, and still get results.

Don't know about their value but I get good amount of visitors and also a high PR back link. What do you need more?

Based on Alexa, few article directories has high traffic. e.g: EzineArticles, ArticlesBase. You can get traffic from them by scale up your effort.

Its just not the main source now, put less focus on it but still use it as DIVERSIFICATION, as you should with any SEO campaign.

if you only do article marketing, you bound to get hurt. so just mix it in with other methods.

Some directories have been affected more than others, but there are directories out there who's articles can rate highly. They do it by being more stringent with their article approval process.
Street Articles, Squidoo and Hubpages spring to mind, I'll be using them to gain some diversity in my backlinks.
