i'm currently moving in the web3 space as artist and creative service provider and one thing i can tell you is if you want to be a successful NFT artist, you need to be really deeply connected in the web3 space. that means you should visit web3 IRL events, build connections, friendships, partnerships, basically dedicate your whole time into growing your brand inside that space. and on top of that have unique art. that is for 1 of 1 artists, that create unique art pieces. there is another side to the NFT space that is mostly about pfp projects (like 10k generated cartoon profile pictures) and DeFi and stuff like that. but for that you also need a lot more knowledge than 2,5 years ago, you need to know the right people and also technical knowledge, and of course a lot of budget to launch a successful project. there is still a lot of scammers out there but in my opinion it is not worth it since there is always the possibility that people will track you down. it is definitely a very niche market and needs a lot of time investment to make the right moves. something i would like to try aswell is selling digital prints on etsy rn. but the page is flooded with Ai images. if someone can give some advise on that would be great.
