You do not understand what duplicate content is.

Duplicate content is duplicate pages (or nearly so) on the same domain.

Content on your webiste that exists elsewhere on the web is distributed (or syndicated) content. Google does penalize for duplicate content, but not syndicated content.

as for the google rank, I don't need it. I provide all my traffic via other methods. I get around 10,000visitors per day, and only 50 from search engines. I have made 500$ just from the first month on adsense, and I have red and asked thousands of ppl about this, everyone said it's ok to use duplicate content

Who would post an article twice in the same website I wonder?
So no problem with copying and pasting from other pages for AdSense huh?

The main reason for doing it is to trick Google into thinking the site is bigger than it is by adding fake pages. This is why the penalty came to be.

Also, if you have a blog with a blogroll, navigation, and tags and such displaying in the global areas of your site, a short blog post will have mostly the same comment as another short post, because the total words on the page count as content, and the majority of the content on multiple pages will be duplicated, except for the short posts.

In addition to that, if you sell products in several colors or sizes, you might use the same description and title for multiple product pages, except for the color or size. These pages will inadvertently create duplicate pages.

Many times WP creates dynamic pages that have the same content but different URL's. Not sure what causes it, but I see it all the time when I do SEO on existing WP sites.
(permalinks settings I imagine)

which is a correct statement.

Keep in mind that copying copyrighted content is still against the law. Publishing online under a copyright statement does NOT protect your material, it must be filed with the Copyright office, at least in the US.
