Is anyone here rocking it with Upwork in 2024?

Is here anyone making a living with Upwork in 2024 and can tell about the experiences so far? I tried it some time back, but most sellers seem to either lack the money to pay a programmer properly or did not want to pay properly.

I'm also dive into it but just trying to figure out since and Im yet to build my account properly

By seller, you mean buyers?

Some are making a decent wage, maybe even thrive, but the reality is that there's so much competition, and people don't always goes for expertise or experience alone, many just wants simple tasks automated to child labor prices. So, if you don't value your time and knowledge, then Upwork is great!

You can still thrive if your profile is in certain countries because some prefer to pay higher for people in certain countries that match theirs. Also you would need to niche out. However, instead of selling time for money or be in a fixed paid contract where there is big abuse, I would stay away from anything that has many changes (like tailor made stuff) and then find some service that is easy to do and without many changes and then arbitrage from other platforms.
