I've been creating content for instagram consistently for some months now. Slowly but surely growing. But in the past few weeks I've noticed that no matter how well a post (especially reels) perform I'm almost always with less than 5% non-follower reach, and a lot of times it's even lower than 1% even though I'm getting a decent retention and a lot of interactions.

I believe this might be because of the new algorithm trying to give smaller accounts better reach (I got a pretty small account) but I'm not sure.

I'm happy that my videos are arriving to my followers and that they are enjoying it. I don't want to stress over that a lot, but it's getting quite hard to grow.

Is anyone else with this issue? And how do you think I can improve this?

What is your niche?
Do you post one reel a day?
Do you follow trends in your niche?

Try something new or trending videos. It goes the same way with tiktok and fb. You need to be so creative to succeed.

try to upload some uniqe content with some trendy hashtags and title! i think it will work fine, all the best!

You have to be unique to even get noticed. If you are doing just what other creators are doing, there is no incentive for a viewer to watch your videos.

I started a first business account from scratch about a month ago and reels tend to get mostly non-follower reach with steady growth that looks like it is accelerating slightly.

The concept is rather simple: I provide actual value, not unique but it is valuable and that generates engagement from thankful/happy users, which I assume is what pushes my content out to non-followers.

Yes I believe it works exactly like that. Social media are secretive about their algos unfortunately.

I’ve had the same exact problem for almost 2 months, I’ve researched everything and I understand how the algorithm works. I’ve tried multiple posts and I get zero non-follower reach. I’ll have a post that does really well with tons of engagement that gets zero reach. my niche is weight loss transformation and I’ve lost a significant amount of weight where the content has potential to get shared quite a bit but like a light switch was turned off. I’ve had my account since January and it happened at the end of May for 30 days I noticed and then for about a week got better and then boom back to zero reach. it’s very frustrating and makes me want a new account. I don’t have a lot of followers only 2500 but my posts don’t get exposed and it’s very frustrating.

Short-form video content or posts based on facts or quotes are the best way to increase reach.

It could be the algorithm changes, maybe try engaging more with similar accounts to get more exposure

make two post daily.
one of them should be reel.
try top trending music in reels.
so many people face this type of issue when insatgram make new update.
dont worry about that. just keep posting and you ll be fine

Go to "Account Status" and see if you have an official shadow ban.
