Hi guys what do you think of making money from a forum?

whats the do's and don'ts on it?

yes, but the amount of work involved is far more than running a blog. i ran a couple of forums which made good money but I was constantly trying to promote and keep the forum active.

mind you, I knew nothing about keyword research/seo back then, so it might be easier if you do all that right.

Have a plan.

1. Find a niche that currently has no forum/bad forums and could do with a good forum.
2. Create the forum.
3. Get traffic via SEO, PPC, PPM etc.
4. Wait until you have an established community.
5. Monetise.

Very simplified of course but a basic outline...

Yeah its a great idea but be pre-planned on what niche you are going to start a forum.We need investment in designing the forum and driving the visitors to the forum and then we will place the ads.

i already have a niche and made the forum i'm stuck on getting members and involving them in the niche of the forum but it is still one month old I know it won't be an instant hit It really needs a lot of work

Fake activity and then SEO it. Seriously. Most large web forums grow this way. Register 2-3 more accounts per day at least and talk to yourself constantly. This way, people interested in the niche will find your forum on Google and will participate because it looks active.

DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER FORUM! There are plenty of forums as it is and unless your a guys who's making MILLIONS online, no one would want to be part of your community!

This may sound harsh but invest your time somewhere else! Large forums such a BHW were created many years back when such a place was needed. Now there's too many of them, especially about making money.

On the other hand if you have a hobby or passion like a movie trilogy like the Lord Of The Rings you could set it up because you would do it passionately!

^^^Ignore this guy lol. There's a boatload of money to be made in many different forum niches. Just like with any online venture, it takes hard work and dedication to make it fruitful though. As long as your forum niche has demand by consumers, there is money to be made.

As others mentioned, build up activity in your forum. SEO it based on specific keywords related to your niche. If it means holding conversations with yourself for a month straight just to get the ball rolling with activity, do it.
