Is Amazon or Ebay better for newbie sellers?

Which one is more cost effective and which one is better for getting sales?

This is just my personal experience, but I got more sales from amazon when I first started in the niche that I'm in, but they take alot more in fees to. Certain categories pay a 15% fee and some are 4%. So ebay works better for me from that aspect.
