I was just getting back into the whole amazon thing and digging through some analytics and WOW everything is completely over saturated. I haven’t really found a SINGLE thing that looks like a safe option to try and order some bulk. Prices are extremely low with hundreds of competitors on everything. I purchased some low competition / lightweight amazon product ideas off someone and even these would be extremely difficult to get to the top.

Just curious what your thoughts are guys. Is there still hope for the beginner to make a few bucks or will I just be wasting money and time by buying 2000 X’s from China, selling 20 of them and then getting out ranked and sold by a bigger company.

It's not dead.

Do you always buy the cheapest item out there or you look for guarantee/warranty/money backs/brand values (apple sells because of their market positioning - not because of being the cheapest)... no?

It's worth it only you look at long term... all quick bucks has been made.

Yep there are still some hope if you can have good marketing strategy to promote your products in Amazon.

Not dead, of courses everyone is doing the same thing so you must thing outside the box. I sell on FBA but in very low quantities (electronics).

It surely is not dead, you just have to find a Niche that is not saturated but has great demand. There are thousands of them! You just have to do your research and dig deep.

So I’m guessing higher end products, lower quantity. Probably very small profit margin?

Definitely not dead. You've just got to work at it. Like really work at it. None of the 20-minute browsing Amazon best sellers..

It's very much alive and well "Saturation" is a state of mind. Stop thinking small. And stop buying product ideas from people! Total waste of money. Dive in it, yourself. It won't work if you think someone will willingly share a winning idea for you to purchase and simply throw money at, sit back, and collect coin. It doesn't work that way. STOP BEING LAZY. You're fooling yourself and you're wasting money, and then blaming your laziness on FBA and using said laziness as an excuse to ward newcomers away from even trying FBA and potentially changing their lives, simply because you're here convincing yourself and others that FBA doesn't work. Not to come down hard on you or anything, but consider this to be tough love.

Lol tough love huh... ok. No the only reason I purchased the product idea was to see if he could produce better results than I. Within a few hours a have found better products using Jungle and simple browsing. Like I said in the original post... everything seems to be very saturated anymore. Meaning.... it seems to be much more difficult than before. Not trying to convince anyone of anything just stating my personal opinion and impression and trying to get feed back from other experts in the industry. Chill

Well then, to answer your question...

It's not saturated. Not even close.

Yes it died like 3 months ago. I went to the funeral, it was sad.

No its not fucking dead, keep coping while not roping dude.

I went on an Amazon warehouse tour the other day and apparently 50% of the stock in this warehouse came from the FBA program so I am pretty sure there is money in it.

This is a totally random fact, but apparently if you have good enough packaging then you can elect to keep your own packaging when Amazon send out your stock, then you save money by not having them package goods on your behalf.

Amazon is pushing their own products harder than ever on ranking.

Apparently they created a certain threshold to get rid of small sellers.

The dude in the video i post said that the bigget ranking factor on amazon is ... add to cart. Because amazon know that you will convert on other products. The tricks he said, its to give fake coupons that way people add to there cart , try and leave bbecause its not working lol

Need to be entrepreneurial about that now. It's about branding and differentiation now. Also being disruptive, that's how they make millions on Amazon on Shark Tank.
