Is AI Killing Creativity in Digital Marketing?

It’s not even a question anymore (at least that’s how I see it). I was managing a team, and the writers kept using AI to generate content. Using it for ideas or support is fine, but for writing everything? That just burns out creativity.

Whenever I asked them to explain something or write even a simple social media post, the answer was always “ChatGPT.” Eventually, I had to put a complete ban on using it in the office.

Everywhere you look, people are pumping out AI-written content, AI ads, AI graphics, everything. It’s efficient, sure, but most of it feels the same.
Do you think AI is making marketing more boring and predictable, or is it just leveling the playing field?
At what point does “automation” stop being smart and start killing originality?
AI doesn't kill creativity in marketing.
It only removes the advantage of those who create superficial content.

It's true that AI is making marketing boring, but I don't think it will kill originality; instead, it will make originality more valuable. When marketers know how to leverage or use AI as a supporting tool intelligently, they will still be able to create impressive and unique content. Conversely, those who become dependent on AI will find that AI kills their creativity.

That's exactly it. And there will come a time when those who don't do it will have poor results, or even none at all.

AI doesn't kill creativity, but it:

kills average creativity

and elevates true creativity.
People who only write ordinary content will be replaced by AI.
People with big ideas + a good understanding of customer psychology will be stronger.

I think it's just making it far easier for people to create content, this inherently creates pollution.

This pollution creates reactance for many people to even read/engage w content that follows a specific AI-related pattern.

Overall, I think that there surely will be, and there is already, an influx of "lazy" content being created, but overall, I believe that good content will always overperform and lead the way with a proper use of AI... which is not blind automation but an extension of creativity

Artificial intelligence helps those lacking creativity to create products by drawing more easily, but it is also reducing human creativity. You need to choose the right AI to use.
