Is Ahref's backlink checker tool really right?

I went to ahref to check the backlink of the top 1 competitor with the Vietnamese keyword link: "phòng xông hơi" and noticed. Competitor do not have the quality backlinks as I thought, but still maintain the top position. I suspect that they have hidden a source of quality backlinks that Ahref can't check. Can anyone help me analyze it?

Keyword rank is based on multiple factors not only just backlinks.

- Domain age
- Domain metrics
- Content quality
- Backlinks relevancy
- Keyword competition (most imp.)
 
No tool is 100% perfect but Ahrefs sounds better when it comes to backlinks’ analysis.
 
AHREF is a better tool without a doubt. But as we all know that no tool is 100% perfect, if you are serious about checking backlink profile of your competitor, then you should try a combination of tools and compare the results.

Ubersuggest + AHREF + SEMRush will be good to try.

What if this competitor has lots of strong links pointing to the homepage and various other pages. And the specific page receives internal links from those powerful pages?


Ranking is not all about links pointing to the specific page. There are lots of other factors.
 
Maybe your competitor is using hidden PBN backlinks by e.g. blocking the Ahrefs bot with .htaccess rules. In that case, you would need a hidden backlink checker.

Your competitor blocks some backlinks. Not only backlinks but also many other factors especially keyword. Compare your site with competitor in semrush. You will get some idea and strategy

You can be sure that a PBN is not only referencing keywords which the money site should rank for but also the domain name of the money site. I prefer #4 because of data precision and usability but #1-3 are free which is an advantage.

Can you explain to me more clearly how to block bots from crawling backlinks via htaccess file? I would like more information on how to block this. Thank you for replying to my question ^^
 
I am already use ahrefs. You know that there is no software that work 100% perfectly. But, ahrefs works good.
