Is Ahrefs and Semrush really that great?

There isn’t a free trial available for Ahrefs, but you can pay $7 to try the platform out for 7 days. Semrush gives you access to all its important features on its entry level plan — the main limitations of its cheapest offering are mainly to do with how many projects you can work on, and how much data you can pull each month. Ahrefs is considerably less generous here — on its entry-level ‘Lite’ plan (99$), you miss out on quite a lot of key tools, including its content gap, link intersect and broken link building tools.This will effectively force anybody who’s serious about SEO onto the more expensive ‘Standard’ plan (199$).

Each tool stands out in its unique performance. Semrush is totally user friendly and easy to access even without much knowledge about it. You can try out zadro web, woorank, Seoquake for basic analysis as it is a free tools.
 
Many of the members here use both the tools, as it helps in all round SEO insights.
Once you learn to utilize those tools, you will definitely enjoy the fruit.
If you find it bit costlier, try group buy or try toolsurf where you can get some trials for cheaper prices!

Both are useful tools that work well and have the same features such as keyword research, and competitor analysis.
 
I’ve used almost all tools but Ahrefs is the best among them.

As per my Knowledge ,You can get the Results from several free tools Like Woo rank, Uber Suggest, and SEO Quake.
For Basic Analysis, we can get the result from Uber Suggest. It will give 3 Free trials per Day.

Paid Tools: SEMrush and Ahrefs provide the detailed Result. Both tools are essential for Site Audit and Competitor Analysis.
 
Thanks for starting this thread, i was also interesting knowing, everyone always has such great things to say about these 2 and i wish i could afford to get them, they just so damn expensive in a 3rd world country
 
Both good, but there are many more amazing tools out there that complement them well. I like Ahrefs for their raw data and Majestic for their Trust Flow (TF) metric.

You will need such a tool, if you want to do something with domains and domain metrics become important. It's very usefull for keyword analytics as well. If you only want to do conent based SEO, you might be able to go with google trends and stuff like this as well, but on some level you will need a data source, you can build upon.

Data for SEO is a good tool for API data, however, the local way they scrape for results is not, IMO, the best methodology. They seem to pull from the map listings and not the map pack directly, which runs on a cue, and Google has discouraged the use of the map listings as an accurate source for determining rankings. The other local mistake is in the trade area. The map pack deals with proximity as its own geography and therefore each trade area for a business is different and ranking by pre-set geographies is merely an indicator for most categories with finite trade areas, at best.
