Is a US SIM card + new iPhone enough to activate TikTok Creative Program from abroad?

I'm currently living in a country not eligible for the TikTok Creative Program. I want to create a US-based TikTok account to access monetization and get exposure on the U.S. FYP.
Here’s my planned setup:

• A brand-new iPhone, fully reset to factory settings.
• A US SIM card (physical, bought online).
• On startup, I will select Region: United Kingdom and Language: English (UK) – not USA.
  → I’m doing this intentionally to avoid entering detailed tax information like in the U.S. program (e.g. W-9, SSN, etc.).
• I will turn on Airplane Mode and completely disable location services.
• I’ll connect the phone to Wi-Fi (which is from my current country – not the U.S.).
• Then I’ll download TikTok, create a brand-new account, and engage with English content only. My questions:

1. Will TikTok detect that the Wi-Fi is not in the U.S., even if everything else looks correct?
2. Will this setup trigger a shadowban, or will it work fine with a UK region and US SIM combo?
3. Is it still necessary to use a mobile 4G/5G proxy from the U.S. to avoid detection or boost stability?

No need for a SIM card, TT currently identifies you by IP, so you need a GB VPN/proxy. And then test, test, and test again which VPNs are suitable

TikTok isn’t just looking at your SIM card — it’s stitching together a handful of signals every time you open the app. When you boot with a U.S. SIM but immediately jump onto local Wi-Fi, the mismatch between your “this is a U.S. number” and “I’m coming from Germany/France/wherever” IP will raise a small red flag. At best that means slightly lower reach; at worst, a stealth shadow‐ban until you look more “geographically coherent.”
Your safest bet is to send all TikTok traffic over a genuinely U.S. endpoint. That doesn’t necessarily mean a $300/month enterprise proxy service, but it does mean either tethering to your physical U.S. SIM’s 4G/5G data (so your phone’s on airplane mode for Wi-Fi but not for cellular) or routing your Wi-Fi through a reputable U.S. mobile proxy or VPN that doesn’t leak DNS/WebRTC. As long as your device locale is set to U.S. region (even if you leave language as English UK) and every network hop looks American, you’ll slip past the basic geo-filters.

Do you do content or reup?

TikTok leans heavily on your IP address for geo-location, so if you’re on non-US Wi-Fi it will flag that mismatch—even with a US SIM—and funnel you into local feeds rather than the US FYP (though it won’t necessarily shadow-ban you). Running everything “aligned” (US SIM, US device region and, most importantly, a US IP) is key for consistent U.S. reach. Using a reliable US 4G/5G proxy or VPN will smooth out those signals and is strongly recommended if you want to avoid location-based throttling and boost stability.

It’s not really the SIM that trips TikTok ,it’s the IP. Even with a US number, the moment you connect through non-US Wi-Fi, it messes up the whole signal. If you want it to hold, your best bet is routing through a real US mobile proxy or tethering to a legit US SIM. That’s what actually works.

You'll need a US IP address likely for Tiktok to think you're us-based. Even if you have a US SIM and you're not in the US, you'll connect to a cell tower located in your home country.

A US proxy would likely be your best bet. Tiktok users typically use ISP proxies to keep their IP address the same between login sessions.

Unfortunately, mobile proxies are really expensive, so I’m wondering if a paid VPN could be a possible alternative.

Let’s say I buy NordVPN with a dedicated/static U.S. IP address, and my setup looks like this:

• An older iPhone, factory reset
• Region and language set to USA
• U.S. SIM card installed
• NordVPN running 24/7 with the dedicated U.S. IP
• OFF localization, airplane mode in phone

Would this be enough for TikTok to believe I’m in the U.S., or will they still detect that I’m actually using Polish Wi-Fi behind the scenes?

In other words – even with a VPN, is TikTok still able to see my real wifi Polish IP somehow?

I think it's possible but unlikely that you have good results on a VPN.
While a paid US VPN is going to be recognized by tiktok, i'm sure they disqualify traffic from the VPN given most normal users don't need or shouldn't use a VPN to access tiktok
US Sim Card doesn't matter if you're using a VPN - your IP will still be coming thru the VPN , so you can and probably should connect it to wifi
With a VPN, Tiktok would not be able to see your real polish IP

TikTok identifiers using SIM card if you plan on doing live streams. For just content, then its IP they use for recommending ForYouPage

Yes, that's possible. But if you want to create a US account, you need to use an IP from the US to register the account. Why not use a US VPN or proxy?

My advice is to choose the US region, use a US SIM, and once your account is set up, you can switch to the UK region if you want.

You should use a US proxy because TikTok will detect the IP address

Using a US SIM is a good start, but TikTok can still detect your real location through your Wi-Fi IP. To fully appear US-based, using a US mobile 4G/5G proxy is recommended. Without it, there’s a risk of reduced reach or account limitations.
