If I were to use a co.cc domain name for my home page, would it be indexed as fast as a .com? I really don't know much about this whole co.cc thing....
Is a co.cc domain worth anything.

So it's just not a .com. Can I register one and point it at my current godaddy website or will that count as duplicate content?

Duplicate content is a myth. All the big marketing guru's started that crap so you won't use articles and such like they do. I watch what most of them do, and it's not what they say.
I have over 200 sites, all with the same content, and google likes it just fine.
And with domains, .com is king, as most people in the world are more used to seeing www.anythingyouregister.com as opposed to .cc or anything else.
That however does not mean they will not rank well. As with any web property you own, just do your do diligence. Do the one page SEO with meta tags, keywords, etc, and have good content, and you'll be just fine.
Don't believe the hype of the big marketing gurus! If you only knew all the things they do that they tell you doesn't work. They are all so full of crap!

I just registered one forwarded the domain to my site. I seem to have a "co.cc" favicon. What do I do to make this function like a normal set up and can I tell search engines that to co.cc domain is the domain that I want to be "the face" of my site and not the other?

The TLD's of a domain do not matter weather it be .com .info .net or .co.cc
They all get indexed the same the only thing is that people always remember .com first.
So if your site is www.thebestsite.co.cc and someone wants to remember to come back they might just put www.thebestsite.com and go to your competitions site.
So just Remember That.
I probably have about 20 .co.cc sites which are indexed and doing well. I use these sites to test out different niches without putting any money into them. If they do well I go and buy a .com or .net. Only after it proves profitable.
Also http://co.cc has a pagerank of 5 and that easily gets leaked to any domain you get from them. I have one domain that i got that had a PR of 2 only after about 3 months of work.

AH I see. Ok. How do i get the domain to function with my godaddy hosting properly? Forwarding is not the way to go is it? It feels like I should be doing something else....

use dns
use ur name servers and add ur domain in ur cpanel or hosting control panel
it will work as a normal domain without co.cc favicon

it is free for only the 1st year, you would have to pay if you wanna continue use it for the 2nd year and beyond.

co.cc sucks nowadays. I am not being able to edit the nameservers at all. I settings page refuses to load properly. just buy a good cheap domain here form BHW itself.
