I was thinking about getting 500 free flyers from clubflyers.com I just pay for shipping and they put an ad for themselves on the other side. Is it worth getting them,or would it be a waste of money since I would look cheap?

yeah, and to pass out flyers you need to be passing out several thousand at the minimum. I used to run a college marketing and promos company for 7 years. We promoted college targeted products and services off campus and passed out a minimum of 4,000 daily. They were also flyers advertising free giveaways and extremely targeted...most we'd EVER get in one day from those efforts is 800 students to show up to get free stuff. If you are promoting something with a cost...you can expect a fraction of those results...like 1-5%. It all depends on what you're using it for...but like anything volume is key. We used to pay students to hand them out for us by putting unique numbers linked to the student handing them out on each set of 500 flyers and whatever flyers came back with their number...they'd get compensated a small amount.

Another option would be to look on fiverr, there are quite a few gigs that offer you the opportunity to hand out your flyers + print them off.. all you need is a design..what you can also get for $5 so in all its $10 and someone else does all the effort for you :)
