IPv6 and IPv4 main differences

Apart from the number/characters on the IP itself, the difference should be the usage of the protocols. IPv4 is very well established, and it should be able to be used on most systems. Since IPv6 has been there for quite some time, the adoption is still lacking. There are older sites/systems which are still running IPv4, which do not recognize the IPv6 IP in the process, thus, there may be some error when using a IPv6 IP to access the old systems.

Here are a number of differences between IPv4 and IPv6. In terms of IP Address, IPv4 support 32 bits whereas IPv6 support 128 bits. IPv4 work with decimal number system and IPv6 support hexadecimal.
