IPRental: What type?

I've searched high and low but can anyone please tell me what type of proxies IP Rental uses?

Are they HTTP/Elite proxies?

Are they SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 (doubt it)?

Anyone out there? Please.

I didnt want to open a new thread regarding these people but i have to say, this has got to be the WORST experience of my life.

I decided to signup. During signup, their system would not accept a 4 digit zip code. After emailing them 4 times about it i FINALLY got a reply saying that i was the first person from Australia to signup and they fixed the 4 digit zip code problem.

Well i thought the problems were over. After i signup via Paypal im told to log into my account using the signup information i supplied only to find out that after i paid my login info was not recognized in their system.

Once again, i spent all day emailing them about the problem. After 3 emails they tell me they cant find me in their system so i send them my PP receipt.

2 more emails asking why its taking so long. Im still being ignored after 12hrs. Keep in mind its Friday in the US and it about 3pm. Surely there is somebody there to help. Not a chance.

Now its Saturday and im still waiting for a reply, a fix or access, something.

I do not recommend anyone to signup with this bullshit service. Once again the url is http://IPRENTAL.COM. Stay away from them.

Seems to me this is a one man show. They reply when they turn on their computer which means they are not there to support you. If there are problems you have to wait for them to pull their fingers out of their asses pretty much.

Zeroa, i dont have any clue as to the type of proxies they use. I dont even know if i believe the claims on their site.

IPrental is software you put on your computer that changes your IP address. You have no way control what proxies you get just whatever shows up when u press refresh IP

Thats true...they only give you an option to have an ip address from the West Coast, Central Us or east coast...and they only provide USA ips.

When i signed up, it also took a while for them to activate my account...they wanted to phone me first! But never did, and after I emailed them asking for account activation, i got a reply saying they were going out the office later, and would activate my account without calling first! (how nice lol)

OK here's my 0.02c on IPRental. The software is good, but the auto-rotation of IP addresses that you have no control over is a severe setback in it's use. Anyone using this for posting Cragslist ads will not have enough time to create an account, confirm the account and post an ad before the IP address changes.

Also, shortly after using IPRental my accounts were hacked in various places. It looks like one of the proxies being used may have been a keylogger and thus was recording my every move and keystroke. This may not be IPRentals fault as I'm not sure what control they have over the proxies in their system, but this seemed very suspicious that this ocurred shortly after using the service.

I am not blaming IPRental itself for the hacking but it sure looks like one of the proxies used in the rotation was to blame.

Does anyone know of any other services such as vpn's that provide autorotation with high speed dynamic ips?

I need to change it every few seconds

Hi,
If your iprental proxies were sniffed and used to hack your accounts this would have major implications.
It would mean they sell untrusted or illegal proxies.
From what I read/hear I think they sell legal shared IPs from a few datacenters, maybe you were "hacked" by other means ?

For posting on CL a heavily shared IP sounds pretty useless to me, even if you are not PVA banned (which is probably a chance of 80% or higher) your ad will be autoflagged very short after being published.
I'd not use a heavily shared IP for CL (also not with PVA as you'd risk your PVA if you use it through an abusive proxy)

I'm using IP Rental for months - no problems. Sometimes it does take time for their support to reply, but overall everything is OK.

Never was hacked. Seems like it's not IP rental and their IPs.
