iPhone X: What do you think?

The face recognition feature is awesome, now authorities can go through plebs phones without knowing the code to open it.

Your post was too long to quote so yeah.. I'm defending Apple? I would strongly suggest you to re-read my first post and then do your assumptions.

You are talking about me not following trends.. I really don't care about trends, I care about what makes me happy. If something makes me happy and costs ~$1000 and I can afford it then of course I'll buy it, if I want to.
So I really don't see what's the big deal here. People value different things.. if people like what they get and don't mind paying "premium" price then.. I guess that's not a problem.
Well, your posts sounded like that you're defending them, not just for me as you can see it from the other guy's reply.

Anyway, agreed, no big deal. Value can be objective and subjective. Let's just say that the iPhone objectively isn't the non plus ultra of phones, subjectively it is for their user base.

I didn't even read the whole thread and I can smell fanboy-ism from galaxies far away.
Chill out, you don't even create those smartphones don't take it so personally.

And, when people bash something for being overpriced, please stop taking out the "the problem is your low income" card.
Does it really make you feel so much better about yourself?
I dont have iphone. I just dont judge good things because of price or some other hype

I think that I ll switch my iphone 7 for an s8 after using iphone since the 3g came out.

Have you seen the keynote? What's your opinion about it? The screen and the AR capabilities are amazing...but the price^^ Here in Germany it will cost 1149€ (for the "small" 64GB version).

Looks good for me .. its time for a new design

As a long time, certified and awarded Apple hater.. I started following the hype of the new iPhone, about 2-3 weeks ago, keeping my eye on leaks and news like a dirty pervert from the bushes. So over those 2-3 weeks I learned A LOT about Apple, iPhones and other shit they sell. What I realized is that 99% of Apple haters are just poor (probably) Android fanboys who started hating on Apple because of the price of their products. Shit, I have been an Android fanboy for quite some time and I have felt the same way as all haters, but this time it's a bit different. What I have noticed is a lot of small things that make Apple products.. well, Apple products. Their attention to details is just amazing.

People are saying that Apple's products (including MacOS, iOS, etc..) just look good and don't offer much power, and joke about not being able to game on their products (I know it because I joked about same things). But what an average, poor, android fanboy doesn't understand is that Apple is not focused on gaming. Macs are mostly targeted to creative people (obviously) or people who use their laptops for work. You don't need a 1080 in a work machine. Instead of raw power you get awesome build quality and an awesome operating system which is greatly optimized for it's hardware. On the phones category.. iPhone 8 shits on S8, it's that easy, just look at the specs. For me, looks is as important as specs.. and there's no denying that Apple products look ridiculously beautiful.

Yes, some people have a real reason to hate specific Apple products, but most of the haters can't just look past the price. Hating on something blindly is just retarded and posting it online just makes you look dumb af.

So the goal of this post was to educate blind haters to look a bit further.. Maybe there's a reason for that kind of price tag ;)

For me.. I consider myself to be ex Apple hater and plan to make it rain when their new products arrive my country.

You must be joking, are you joking?

I am "fortunate" to have all kinds of Apple products at my disposal due to my work requirements, featuring as of this moment latest versions of iPad, iPhone 7, MBP and iMac. All I can say that their products for
serious usage are just shit, iMac have been built from slowest notebook components available on the market and the moment you stop watching videos or just surfing the net and try to compile something or
run a modern IDE, or try to run a virtual machine you hit the wall hard. From my personal xp ordinary Dell or Lenovo machine can outperform 3x more expensive Mac in any benchmark available.
And yes, you can have high resolution IPS displays on PC as well.

Phones and tablets...I don't use tablets at all, but their phones are limited beyond comprehension...as someone already stated, you cannot access FS (my daily routine with my phone), they are raping you
with Cloud backup all the time, I had some seriously disturbing bugs that manifested with broken basic functionality such as call records, while at the same time it tries to monitor my sleep etc...

In the end, for me, their products are just overpriced useless toys, this picture, already posted multiple times, sums it all:

Man, I think I should have chosen a bit better words for my post because you are third guy who didn't get my post. Also maybe you could tell us what kind of work do you do?

You are probably right. I am in software development, and I need to have lots of platforms at my disposal to be able to debug stuff on web and locally installed - mobile and desktop.

Well, then I understand your problem. Only those top level macbooks can handle compiling.. those tiny 2 core ones are for browsing the web or something. But when we are talking about software development when source files don't need to be compiled then it should be good enough. I personally don't care about file access on iPhones really (iOS 11 features FS actually.. well weird one, but it's something). I just need to be able to read my emails, use few apps and visit few websites.. and it must look awesome.

So, from the start of this thread, you've joined the thread with a response like "the problem is not the phone, it's your low income", then quoted other members of why you believe the phone rocks by showing off how much better you are, being 100% sure about what you've said and giving thousand reasons of why they're wrong defending the phone like you actually manufactured it and now you're telling me, that you don't own even own the phone?

Come on dude, you can't save it now, you're just making it worse.

Why defend it so hard then? They might as well be right bashing it. Let them be.
You can't have such a strong opinion about how much it rocks and how their problem is their wallet... while you don't even use the phone yourself.

What do I think of it? I'm getting one! I'm finally getting rid of this old iPod I'm using.

I have a top level MBP. They put laptop components in iMac, reducing the memory bus width, causing you to cry when you actually need to "process" something. The point of my thread was not to bash Apple stuff as not usable for development work, but rather to point out, that I hardly doubt, that people who use Mac for a living are actually using it to do work on it, as its components don't allow you to do it efficiently. Ok, maybe writers and sales professional can benefit from having it around, but other than that, even graphic designers could get a much better deal looking somewhere else.

PC can look nice and fast too, you just have to tweak it, I get that some people don't want to do that. Still, even then, there are better deals around you that can provide at least similar UX, either in phone or desktop department.

In the end, market share and browser statistics say it all: if it were better, even for that price, more people would use it, as most of us don't care how much it costs, as long as it brings money in.

Another depressing phone that'll be outdated not long after it's released.

I'm still disappointed that Google sullied Project Ara by turning it into some hipster camera-swapping nonsense before trashing it altogether.

My PC is quite fast and I don't plan moving away from there. I do miss Linux shell daily, but I have used Windows whole my life and I don't see a reason why it should change.
My phone, on the other hand, is getting uglier and weirder with every day. Every time when I swipe down to view wifi, bluetooth and other icons.. I just feel how a raging puke waterfall wants to come out of me. It's that ugly.

Amazing phone itself, but the price is crazy for a smartphone. They're going nuts and I'm wondering if iPhone price will follow the trend of BTC!

Price is a bit much. I would wait until they drop in price, but by the time the price is right, they would come out with a new one.

I am still an iphone fan but it does seem over priced and it also seems that every time Apple bring out a new phone they are trying to make it look more and more like a Samsung.

iPhone X just looks terrible and I don't like the bar at the top which impacts the screen use.

I've had the 6 for a while as I've been holding out for this year's release (skipped the 7).

I was extremely disappointed with the lineup and opted to get the 8 plus.

Then, I used the compare feature on the Apple website. Other than the chip and "wireless charging" (which you need the actual charger thing separate) there are no differences other than the price.

So, after waiting and completely skipping the 7 line, looks like I'll be now getting a 7 Plus

Personally, I think if it wasn't the anniversary, this year announcements would have been the 8/8 plus, then we would have had a better X model as next years release. I feel like they rushed it out to fit in with the anniversary and this is more of a "soft launch" and the true X will be released next year.
