Hmm.. Isn't that business?
It's business, but it's the same business for all participants. There aren't too big differencies in the manufacturing costs across brands, the big differencies are in the selling prices. You can guess which brand rips their customers off the most. Those who sell their stuff for only 2 times the price of producing costs or that one which sells it for 3X, when it's neither better quality, nor has better specs than their competition and the only things, which make their products different is the hype and the cool factor. This is what you're paying top dollars for.
It's their own problem that they are not very bright and can't afford to spend time on research.
True dat.
Look at the first answer.
Exactly, look at the first answer.
I don't know about that.. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus prices are pretty good.
According to Apple and their sheeple for sure. But objectively in comparison with their competitors, those prices are really not that good considering that Apple products are not the best available products you can buy nowadays. If they were, those prices would be all right and no-one could say a thing.
Tell me one product compared to iPhone X which have same features and can last 3-4 days? And why are you expecting an "ideal" product from Apple? Because they once led the industry? Your whole paragraph has a point, but is quite unrelated to the topic.
Where did i say that phone already exists? That would be the ideal and not smartphones with countless useless features equipped with batteries which drain in hours, if you start to actually use them. It's not an Apple-specific issue, although their competition beats them in this regard too even if just by a little, but if Apple wants to lead again, that's a segment they can concentrate on. There is no need to spend millions of dollars figuring out how to beat the competition year by year and putting more and more useless shit in the phone, which only drains the battery even more; the answer is simple: they can simply beat the competition with a decent battery. What do you think, which one is a more needed feature of a smartphone: augmented reality or a decent battery?
And you are sure about it, 100%? LOL How many people can actually purchase a $800+ phone?
You're on the wrong path with this. It's not about the price, it's about the declining trend. Check the market share trends, if you don't believe it. Numbers rarely lie. How do you explain the trend? People don't become poor suddenly to the point that they can't afford to buy iPhones anymore.
It's clear: less and less people decide to buy an iPhone and go with some other brand.
When there's a new release, the market share jumps a few percents of course, then it goes back to where it was or below it.
If I decide to purchase iPhone 8 Plus/X instead of S8, which part of it is swimming against the current?
Well, you're going against that trend that more and more people choose something else than an iPhone.
Nothing is wrong with going against trends, it was only an observation and a weird thing that you decide to switch from Android devices to iPhone, when most people do the opposite or just go with something else, which is not an iPhone.
You wasted so much time on writing that long reply to me.. without showing any comparisons, examples or anything to back up what you are saying. That's kinda sad because.. if you are trying to prevent me from buying an iPhone.. then you are not doing a really good job.
Lucky me, i didn't waste too much time, because although i quoted a sentence from you, but the vast majority of my post was of general purpose. It's not a coincidence that i didn't quote your whole post.
Why would i need to show comparisons or examples? It's not a dissertation, everyone's free to do his/her own research. But you said, you monitored Apple in the past weeks, everything what i mentioned should be known facts by you already. If not and you were drinking the Apple kool aid, check unbiased sources on Google or wherever you want. None of that what i said came from thin air.
I'm not trying to prevent you from doing anything, people are doing stupid stuff all day long without me telling them what to do or what not to do.
It's just that you composed a post with no understanding of anything regarding to this industry whatsoever.
You're trying to defend a once great brand, which is only a shadow of its past, when it comes to dominating a market. To say the least, your timing is not the best, which is cool by me, it's just needed to be put in its place.
If it was a troll post, i am not amused. lol
