Hey Guys,

i know that iPhones can be flagged by Instagram and shadowban the account. - I've been there.
So for my new account i bought a cheap Android phone and a sim card and check the instagram app only via mobile internet. It works perfectly and no shadowban in sight.

However I just got a brand new iPhone yesterday and wondered if i could put Instagram on the phone? I heard though that setting it up with the old Apple ID could flag the device again? Is that true?
Do I have to create a new apple ID?

I'm scared of messing up the account as its growing like a charm.

Thanks a lot guys :)

Well, you never know. Better safe than sorry. I suggest you make a brand new account.

I’m actually about to do the same as you. I seem to have a shadow ban, but I have a new iPhone I need to set up and hoping it might give me a fresh slate.

I remember 2 years or so ago, when I got a new phone and logged into my Instagram account, I had an increase of engagement etc. I used my same apple log in and that seemed fine then. Fingers crossed it’s the same this time.

To be honest, I don't think it matter, since your account is growing well without any issue, i believe it shouldn't be an issue. if i were you, i wouldn't think twice or if you aren't convinced then you can use another apple ID.

My old iPhone was flagged - so I know it can happen. It totally destroyed two accounts of mine. Which were apparently linked through the phones.

Everybody is kind of saying different things. But you think I’m fine with putting it on the new phone even though it has my Apple ID l. So scared haha l, I hope your right

Neither the Apple ID nor the iPhone device ID will be transferred to Instagram, since this is not possible (and not allowed) with iOS apps.

Regarding Android: Apps can transfer anything device related to the platforms/app creators.

There may be other stuff that the iphone send? Otherwise creating account on iPhone would be a great way no?

The iPhone doesn't send any device related data to app creators or platforms, just your IP address, user agent (containing the iOS version and iPhone version) and a possible UUID of the app.

Anything else like MAC address, device ID, Apple ID, WLAN hotspots, battery load etc. won't be transferred.
