Ipad for IM?

Just jumped on the ipad bandwagon with an Ipad 4.

Are there any good apps for IM?

Instagram springs to mind (but I already have bots for this on my laptop).

Just get Logmein and use it for remoting to your desktop with all of your IM stuff on it

While I use my iPad for working on the go and giving pretty solid presentations it's still a pretty limiting device, there isn't really anything IM I do on it apart from answer emails. I do have Google Analytics and Adsense apps so I can track my sites without booting up my computer but I've found that to be the extent of it.

I also use remote desktop on my iphone. As long as I have my phone, I can do anything on my vps. Sure it takes a bit longer, but it's convenient for when you are away from your computer.

Yep, Remote Desktop app is a necessity

I also use the logmein app to control my office computers.

One app that i use on my iphone that would work on ipad also is SEO Ranking. $1.99 does an awesome job for rank tracking.

I use mine for rank checking and remote desktopping, but that's sort of the extent of the functionality I've discovered. I also have a netbook type laptop that I can use on the go.

There are some IM apps.

1.Beejive, it throws in push notifications for SEVEN days and supports the usual slew of protocols

2.IM+, a chatting apps. Good Luck.

Hey just get an UltraBook, they can be almost as thin as an iPad but you can put a real operating system on it like windows 7. Oh and it has a real keyboard which is a must for IM. Take a look at the Acer Aspire S5. You can get the 12" model, and to be honest would be perfect for me to do my backlink work on the go. Lets face it, how the heck are you gonna write and post articles with an ipad touchscreen and not to forget it doesnt even have flash.

The only real reason I use my tab for is Skype and checking\replying to emails. The live notifications come in pretty handy. Other than that, I don't really use it for much.

You're able to zoom in which makes it rather easy. Occasionally I log in to my servers or home computer from my iPhone and it does take a little bit longer than usual, but it is still pretty handy.
