IP leaves footprint?

Just a question guys,

What if you would use one IP for commenting and making 2.0's etc. Will it leave an obvious footprint for Google?

And will using just 1 email adress for your first tier web 2.0's leave a footprint?

That IP will eventually hit blacklists and have a lower success rate on forums and when posting to blogs protected by Akismet etc, but I don't believe the actual IP would leave a footprint to Google.

I am very interested to see what others have to say on the topic :)
 
I'm curious as well. I've been making separate emails for a lot of things, but I'm still doing it all from one IP. I've also bought some services so even if the IP mattered, there should still be some diversity. Would be good to know one way or another, though.
 
You do not know what a footprint is. No offense intended.

To answer: G works in mysterious ways. De facto, they may know more about you than the NSA knows about Obama. :P


Just the IP is not enough. Besides footprints there are fingerprints. You would be surprised to know what kind of info gets send to any server by your computer.
Your OS, browser, plugins, CPU and lots more is available.

The more things known, the more accurately you can track. And they do...

google cannot know your ip, or email unless the site shares it. (no reputable site would) so it should not leave one..

Still wondering about the email though... Maybe I'm just being paranoid.
 
youtalkmedia lots of people will fill out the known info about you in their contacts. If I own a Gmail and add you, they know.

I don't know for sure, never worked with google, but if they run a script on your site they have the option to know who visits your site. G analytics is a commonly used script.
Seeing this is a company that issued a serial number on their browsers, hacked wifi networks because they could and with their update to no-privacy I wouldn't put it passed them.

Keesief, perhaps it is in the way you apply it. Spam is a nuisance, don't annoy people and you should be okay. :P

Just asking because i think GSA, the new seo tool, doesn't have the ability to auto-create Emails and verify them. This means U would have to make them one by one for each web 2.0!

I don't know if you get what I'm saying, but it's def. easier then your latin signature haha.

Have you looked at Imacro's? This even comes prepared with captcha support.
But, then you would need proxies. Don't use hidemyass.
Don't know GSA but I do know you don't run a bot on your own ip. lolz
 
I don't think google uses IP information because it can only get it from sites that use google analytics.
 
This is something I've wondered about too, but I doubt google is monitoring your IPs on third party sites. I mean they probably could do it secretly if they wanted to but I don't think they do. Like if third party site had google analytics installed, toolbars, "secret dealings" going on behind the scene, etc. But that's getting too far into conspiracy theories... google doesn't care about you that much IMO.
 
Sometime ppl forget that MR. G is a busyness like everything else. Track every single bit of your information about you trying to spam their search engine and your whole activity would cost them an "arm and leg".
 
The ip itself will leave a footprint with the web 2.0 account, but not with google, unless we're talking about a google+ account. Google can't see the ip of the person accessing a web 2.0, just like they can't see the ip of Furious George on BHW. Only BHW can see that. Unless........... there's something else like a java app, or something I'm not thinking about. Maybe a google plugin on the page?

But ultimately it boils down to gathering information. It is their core business to collect data and make it accessible.

I would not underestimate what G can know about a person.

Well sure... but a website that doesn't use that, doesn't leave an out for that scenario :) Like a GOOGLE PLUGIN ON THE PAGE... ;)
