I think dedicated ip is better .there are some times more than 1000 web sites host in 1 ip .so it is better go for dedicated it also i noticed many professional site that are in good ranking goggle using dedicated ips
It will not change things. However, if you stick multiple sites on your dedi, Google will know they are the same owner. If you have multiple sites on a shared, Google knows its shared and doesn't know who owns what.
If you do a quick search, Google doesnt care if your on a shared or not. I have had sites banned on my servers and they dont affect the rest of the sites -- as long as the server is setup properly. The big advantage to your own IP is if you want SSL.
IP can affect seo a lot if you link your own sites from the same shared hosting. Google can probably catch that. Also if your shared hosting has a lot of EVIL stuff hosted on it you might get a big penalty.
