How're you dividing your assets for the upcoming economic downturn?

I'm personally placing 25% of my savings every month into gold as a value placement, but Im very interested in hearing how other people are preparing to keep value in the next recession.

Basically just trying to keep cash on hand and my eyes open for good opportunities.

I'm not bothering, after the financial crisis ten years ago UK banks are pretty safe. If you knew my wife's spending habits you'd realise I have no assets lol!

I work in a hot real estate market dominated by sellers, huge demand and a limited inventory. Depending on where your living I’d be buying real estate. I see a lot of foreign (Chinese) buyers picking up a lot of properties, this past year.

I would say UK banks are worse now than ten years ago, they have only got bigger and IMO it's only a matter of time until something causes a massive crash again.
