That's pretty inaccurate.
It mostly just comes down to common sense. People think they can spend $10 for a lifetime pbn link and are going to get results and have a clean link profile. All you have to do is go and sign up to spamzilla and hit the auctions yourself. Do the math and check what people are charging and see if it's possible. I can tell you now that it's difficult to get good domains for less than $500 these days.
You can also tell the bogus reviews from the real ones. When you have dozens of people post things like "Great service! Seller communicated well and answered all my questions. Will buy again" then you should be suspicious. When you have reviews showing screenshots of traffic, rankings and earnings from real business owners and people with a very active/legitimate profile on the forum, then it's a different story.
Traffic getting links has nothing to do with link juice. Zero. Ranking is the result of relevancy + juice.
It's the input in the equation. Not the output. X + Y = Z
X = relevancy and Y = power.
X = 1000, Y = 1, Z = 1001.
Is that a good link? No.
Juice is juice. You rank because you have links from pages with a metric fuck ton of juice going into them. Plain and simple.
Try it as an experiment. Build a really low comp site on a fresh domain, get it up to 1k traffic per month, then link off to another site and see if it helps.
Now buy a $5k auction domain with 4000 RDs and DR 60 and send a link from that from the homepage with near no traffic and see if it gives you an increase it ranking.
If traffic was a ranking factor, then we wouldn't be on the auctions spending $5k on domains, we would just register fresh domains and create a bunch of content targeting low comp keywords, then send links to our money sites.
Traffic is not, has never and never will be a ranking factor. It would break search if they tried to do that. It doesn't make any sense.
