Hey everyone. During my first foray into marketing many years ago I made a few blog sites and social pages to push them. I also tried a few youtube videos. While I was authentic they always lacked a bit of polish and for the blogs it was kind of towards the end of the blogging era. Oh yeah I also did some Bing ads at one point
So much has changed on the internet and while I still like old school forums like this one I have accepted that's not the landscape anymore and that I do have it in me to make successful social media pages. If anything it's a blessing no fiddling with webservers. I used to think having those IT skills gave me an edge, but oh well that time is long gone.
I have a couple of niche ideas for a youtube page. It's basically content that I wish existed. Some of the ideas will involve hard work and research others I can hopefully automate and the value will be in the speed that they are created so that they are published while the topic is still relevant.
My game plan this time around is to work really hard at making things extremely polished, hit the ground running like I was running a professional channel this whole time. I know how hard editing is and I'll have a ton to learn.
Goal: First draft video created by this time next week.
Then I'll try to refine my process a bit and work on the extras stuff like thumbnails and a web of social media profiles. Though my main site will be youtube. Going to use my voice. Probably won't show my face. May use an avatar. May use a physical mask, but that might be too weird. May eventually show my face, it's just I have a professional job and you know how things can be these days. Nothing will be black hat in fact I want it as legit as possible, I've just always like this site.
Anyway I'm really excited because my mindset was "that's something other people do" and now it's "that's something you can do".
