Hello everyone!
I know this isn't Quora, and the reason why I'm posting my question here and not on any of the Q/A sites is that I'm more likely to find people knowledgeable about the things relevant to my question here. But first a little bit about myself. I haven't done much IM at all. Actually, all the money I've earned so far comes from working jobs the old'n'boring way, as an employee. Being a self-taught programmer, I was able to find employment as a software dev some two years ago, and have been working for the same company since. We're in the business-to-business market, creating on-demand apps that aid our clients in their processes. It's an okay job, it pays the rent and all, but it's so boooring... And lately I've been feeling like it's a dead end and won't ever take me where I want to go. So where do I want to go? Where the money is. Plain and simple. I don't want to live on an okayish paycheck anymore, I want more from life, and that 'more' requires more money, there's no way around it. I just seem to be dumb about how to get there. I'm really smart about some other things, but so far, all I've seen is less intelligent people making heaps more money, and it makes me wonder, whyyy... Why are they able to pull it off and I'm not? But I don't want to whine, so I'll just leave it at the questions I've been meaning to ask.
What would you do in my situation? I don't have money to invest. I mean, I could pay for server costs and for people creating some content for me or whatever, but I don't have substantial money to invest, you know what I mean. I can code, I've been making native and also web apps for a living for a while now. I have barely any experience with IM, but I think with my background I would be fairly good at anything technical it may involve. I just don't know what would be a really worthwhile (= lucrative) thing for me to do, and how to go about it.
TIA for your input!
