The formatting of this article might have turned out a bit weird, I don't know how to fix it. It is available on my blog for those that care that much about the aesthetics. Before I start the second interview in my interview series I'd like to thank you all for the amazing feedback on the last interview with Rohit Palit. With over 570+ shares on various social media platforms I guess I will continue with this series (even though Rohit was the one bringing all the traffic with him sharing it around on Facebook). Today I've interviewed Ste Fishkin, the notorious BlackHatWorld troller. It turned out way better than I expected and just a little glimpse of hate towards my blog! I hope you enjoy the interview! Who are you? Could you tell us about your background? I'm Ste Hughes, going by the name of Ste Fishkin on Black Hat World since now. I'm 25, I'm from a small seaside town in North West England but recently moved to the soulless and sterile city of Milton Keynes. I've spent my entire working life doing web development or things very close to that... Over the past 5 years I've crossed over into SEO and PPC more and more. My last job was working in ecommerce, turning a local store in my small home town into an international business and market leaders in what they do through ecommerce. I've also run a massively successful sideline business, Cash Grab Keywords which turned over $10,000 in its first 30 days (shameless plug time, you can buy this business on flippa here: https://flippa.com/6475667-cashgrabkeywords-com). I've also spent several years self employed, doing web development services for local and national clients. If any of you recognise my name though, it won't be from the work I have done. It will be because I troll people on BHW. Why did you want to start making money online? I was into YouTube as a hobby in 2011ish... I saw YouTubers go from making gaming videos for free in their bed rooms to being paid $25,000 a month from Machinima. That kind of made me ask how the fuck did that happen... I quickly realised I was not brilliantly talented at video making, commentary or video games. The dreams didn't die though, I thought if Machinima can afford to pay people $25,000 a month I wonder how much they are making. So I started a YouTube network. You can read about it here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/how-not-to-run-a-youtube-network.815193/. It really didn't go well, I learned a fuck load about business, marketing and how to not be a douche through that experience. It was funny as fuck though. It was through this where I discovered BHW, and when that came to an end I kind of hung around and got interested in SEO and other things. I'm not really a big believer in making money online, sitting at home and earning a living alone with a laptop is not an environment I would thrive in. I need chaos and people, so I've stuck to offline marketing and actual fucking jobs. This has left me to do my own thing, in my own time which I prefer. If your 9 to 5 is an agar.io hack site or a penis pills lead gen site when you get tired and bored you can't stop, you have bills to pay... but when you do this stuff for fun, I can drop it for a week and do different things and come back to it later which I prefer. People claim working in IM full time gives you freedom, bull shit. Most people are 1 Google update from being homeless. What excites you the most about SEO? I really do not have the patience for SEO, it does not excite me that much.I'm so much more about quick wins and making money in weird ways. I really only do SEO when I have to, spending 3 months of effort + $100's on links to rank is just stupid in my eyes and even then after all this messing around you could lose it all on one algorithm update. PPC is much more my kind of thing. SEO absolutely has its place and PPC isn't always the best option, but I just don't have the patience for it. I do this for fun, and spending 3months buying links to one day hope it all pays off is not fun. Spend $10, try an advert for the keyword you are thinking of ranking with SEO and see how it goes. Measure conversion, traffic, bounce rates... If all goes well then go away and invest in SEO. What has made you so successful? Well it's probably down to my ability to win minds and be friends with people. I'm not sure I am "successful", I just have a honest no shit approach to things. I'm not at all going to pretend I am some internet millionaire like some do... I'm far from it. Your way of treating customers is a bit controversial. What is your opinion on that? I honestly couldn't give a fuck. Like I said above, I do this for fun. I know there are people out there who sell links who would love to have the freedom to say and do what I say and do. Look at the message I got off this other keyword seller FFS, if this isn't jealousy then what is it? With keywords tbh, it was fairly easy to be brash with. If they didn't sell I would just use them myself but it was cool as fuck, so have the most expensive product, call customers mother fuckers and other things and still make $10,000 in a month from a half arsed web site that took an afternoon to knock together. If you were to give yourself, as a newbie, a tip, what would that be? Stay away from gurutards. Matthew Woodward, Charles Floate, Shoemoney... They are all perfect examples of gurutards. These are people who make money online by pretending to make money online. Want to know why they recommend certain tools? because they are on affiliate deals with them... Ask yourself, if Charles Floate was really making $30,000 a month, why the fuck is he selling ebooks for $29? They are not out there to teach people, they couldn't give a fuck about that. They just want to extract as much money out of the pockets of noobs as possible. I learned so much on BHW from people like 2011NFL, Netmoney1, phpbuilt and many others. These guys are not around much anymore, but the noobs of today should be looking at Meathead1234, t0mmy, Leith... They have so much to share and unlike the stuff you read on gurutard blogs, these guys are actually motivated by sharing knowledge, not affiliate links. Black Hat World is an amazing forum, truly amazing. There is no where else on the internet like it, you have a complete mix of people who think they are wizards to people who make millions every year... The no bullshit attitude the place has is also fucking wonderful. If your intention to is to use BHW for your own gains you will get fucking destroyed, which keeps the place relatively free of the bollocks you get on other forums. If I was a noob, I would also totally buy this website: https://flippa.com/6475667-cashgrabkeywords-com What do you consider your biggest weakness? I get bored easily and I sort of self destruct every 6 months or so... Where do you find yourself most productive? Why? A white room, in silence with nothing to see or do except a computer. I get distracted easily, the less things to grab my attention the better. In the real world, I just tend to sit down, shut the outside world off and get on with things. I'm really not someone who could work in a coffee shop though, I'm not sure anyone is. Those people are just hipster retards. Challenges also motivate me and I love solving them. My best work happens when I ask "how the fuck did he do that...", it's like a fire in me that will not stop until I find the answer. What are you working on right now? I just moved from my cute little English seaside home town, 200 miles South to a horrible, glass and metal concrete jungle... Really, for the first time in years my main focus in life isn't work. I was at my last job for 2 years and a month. I worked 6 hours a day from 8am to 6pm (and later a lot of the time) for 6 days a week. In 2 years I had 4 days off, and two of those were for a job interview in my new city and 1 day to sort out somewhere to live here. I'm working on settling in here right now, I cannot put into words just how far out of my comfort zone I am right now... I'm working on getting my head around that so I can move on and focus on doing good work again. The new job is for a company I cannot tell you about, but 99% of your readers will have heard of them. What is your goal? I really have no idea what I want from life. I think I'm in the middle of some sort of existential crisis where I am trying to work out what I want to do... I'm 25, I've got the freedom to move, see, do almost anything I want but I don't know what would work for me. I don't think money motivates me, I just took a pay cut to move 200 miles away from everyone I know. That's kind of retarded but at the same time, I think it's good for me. The job is super fucking awesome though. I guess my goal is to find what makes me really happy and what I should do for the next 50 years or so, the sooner I sort that the better. Who'd you want me to interview next? t0mmy, Wilson, netmoney1. Or mickyfu, he will drive traffic. Is there anything you’d like to add? I'm at Ungagged this weekend, come say hello and please don't punch me if I have offended you on the internet at some point. Mickyfu, I'm kind of sad we didn't meet before I moved. Fuck you. And I'm sorry to anyone I have disappointed by agreeing to an interview on a gurutardish blog, I'm just trying to get some attention so someone buys my site, which is available on flippa here!
