Anyone else feels restrained from doing something because of all the TOS policies and laws that might get an account banned? It's not even a legal issues but just spending a lot of time on a project and then account is banned or having an established account banned because of a new project.

Just is general. Once in a while you see posts about accounts being banned and if you have a few hundred or thousands in that account makes you think twice before starting a new project. PayPal, Amazon Google they all can take your money and hard to get it back. Most of the corporations got these rules and stuff.
 
Yes but that's why you need diversity - don't put all your eggs in 1 basket.

That's true it's just it can be a dumb rule in their TOS and they will keep a thousand bucks. It does make sense that they got rules but some of them are just not justifiable to take all the money for a minor mistake and most of these IM giants hold money for 1-2 months.

Yep, but that's the way it goes. Their network, their rules.

You can always start developing your own product/service, your own prices and rules. Though this is not so easy.
 
You are a IM-er. You have to know already that before getting on something, you should read reviews about the past experiences of other people that worked with them, I mean google it and read forums, review sites and so on. If it's not something like a secret product, you can even ask people you know in here, on Skype etc. For example, a PPD network that uses offers of CPA companies, although they might close an eye on some things you can do, they must put a legit TOS that covers all the 'needs' of the CPA company.

So to be honest, it's hard to reply to a general question like yours, without giving a general answer.

I got no problem at all with the rules it just it holds me back a bit to start a new grey hat project.

For example I want to upload a CC non-commercial rights videos on youtube and monetize it with adsesnse. There are other users that do this with this particular source. Thery are non-commercial and I am sure owner of the videos don't care and even encourages to share it. If it's a new adSense account then I don't care if they ban me, but my account has some funds on it so i cannot to this project and there are other projects like this that I just skip. And yes I am aware that youtube just sends a DMCA warning and they won't ban my account.

We can get screwed even with white hat projects, so no surprise in the grey area...
