My dad uses Internet explorer daily and within the last day or so he has noticed that clicking on images brings him to a redirect page. My first thoughts were that his computer was infected, after doing scans with various different malware/anti virus software we found nothing. I used google chrome and have done for years now but i still have internet explorer installed, i quickly booted it up to find im having the same issue. I have NO viruses so im 100% its not one.

Read a few different things on google from being a Google safety feature to Google collecting information of some sort. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Ben

Honestly, I've had a nasty virus before that Kaspersky, Microsoft Security Essentials and Combo Fix couldn't detect or even find a problem. I'd give this a shot anyways:

Also: Why the hell do you use Internet Explorer? It's like Firefox and Chrome's downs syndrome cousin.

I don't use internet explorer, my dad does. Its what he knows, what he is used to so no point in changing it. I would consider myself fairly good with computers, i have not download anything in months let alone use internet explorer in years until this day so im almost sure its not a virus.

Sorry about the text around, have been posting it on a few forums looking for an answer. I copy & pasted it, tried to change the text colour but there is not an option to do so.

it looks like an adware has been installed on your PC. try scanning with malwarebytes antimalware and avira :) there are many online scanners which you can use like eset, panda, trend micro etc :)

Like CazuaL says people get stuck in their ways but try and show your Dad how buggy Internet Explorer is. Tell him to check out Maxthon. Its the shit! Better speed, reliability and safety. All the things you'd expect in a new car to drive safely around the internet.

    P.S.

    Eset will find almost anything.

Just spoke to a friend who lives in another country, he is getting the same problem. Obviously google/IE has changed or updated something.
