Hey Guys,

If you were adding a spanish version of a page let's say /jennifer-lopez (Content here is in spanish)

Would you setup the URLs like:

1. mysite.com/jennifer-lopez
2. mysite.com/es/jennifer-lopez

Especially if you'll be adding more spanish pages like /jennifer-lopez-clothes or /jennifer-lopez-shoes etc.

I would rather go with #1 - Just because that extra /es/ will take away a chunk of my link juice.

What do you guys think?

Every language version should have a separate address. So, yes, if ES is your second website language, add /es/ before the URL.

If you are creating a Spanish page and your website is also having the same page in english language then don't forget to use hreflang tag.

Why don't you make a subdomain? The English version can be www.mysite .com and the Spanish version can be es.mysite .com

It is always better to be clear about the localization in the site’s URL. I would say that you should go with the second option.
