Internal Links...?

I read a post recently on a WH SEO forum where it said that people often underestimate the value of internal links e.g. from each of your pages of your site to all the other relevant sites and vice versa.

Has anyone found this to actually help? I can see it might a little bit, but not very much..

of course, this is why LARGE sites with lots of pages do well in search engines.

Its a matter of maths and also why sitemaps are inportant.

i.e. say a link to your site is worth 0.25 PR and say you have 3000 pages that EACH input 0.003 PR to the home page. This adds up big time.

Of course, they have to be proper pages with proper content and different otherwise google will treat them like any other trash page.

Its not easy having 1000s of pages like that unless you have a successful wiki site or other site where users submit content.

sure it is one reason why blog are doing so good in seo because each post is a page with internal "backlink".

on a static site you can even play with the "rel=nofollow tag" to focus all the "PR juice" on your main seo optimised page.

That is why it is recommended to use those recent posts, related posts, and recent comments widget for your blog.
