Internal links Vs Backlinks

of course, an internal link is necessary to divide the
page rank well. although it can not raise the SERP
rankings

Internal Links Only will not do the job. But it is a Must, I Would rather say It will work as a Catalyst in the Process of Ranking Webiste
 
I personally use a related post plugin which add 4-5 highly related posts on each page. It works out good for me.
 
It is possible to skew the anchor text ratio with clever internal linking structure. Use actual anchor text for linking to inner pages and link it from every page, if possible. Then build brand / naked url high quality links to every page of the site. I have test results which shows that this can rank the site easily even for medium hard comp keywords.
 
Internal links won't get you ranked however are key for a solid site infrastructure
 
You can only rank with internal links when your competitors have no backlinks.
 
Internal links cannot help you rank, the 100 links from different sources would be way powerful.
 
Are the related post links there all the time or are they only there when a visitor is on the page? If they are only linked when visitor is on the page wouldn't there be much less value to Google in terms of anchor text to tell G what the linked to page is about and to assist visitor navigation.

I just got rid of my WP plugin SEO Internal links because of this.

I'm not trying to be a wise guy, I just don't know if I did the right thing or not.

I got to number one for my brand by using it as the home page backlink as a footer link on every post on my site. That was years ago and I have only built a handful of external links with my brand since. About a week ago I decided to get rid of the brand in the footer and cut and paste 20% or so brand anchor text into my post content and the other 80% KW phrases to my home page. (percentages are just guesses but fairly close)

I don't know what is going to happen.

Anyway, nothing but footer links on my posts delivered me my brand.

Maybe that isn't important. I just checked LTP KW competitiveness and my brand only has a value of 23. I might have just gotten it because no one else wanted it.

Anyway, there it is, for whatever it is worth

your site = 1 ip. yes you can have multiple domains on ip, but internal linking is is only one ip. So it has everything to do with internal.

I am just saying which think google wants 1 ip or multiple ips.

I am not saying they dont help but when it comes down to it backlinks is superior otherwise I can create a billion pages and have more links than wikipedia

but like somebody said above you can control the anchor text and how many links a post gets with internal

also helps with indexing and bounce rate

Some great comments here.. that said I keep my internal links low and this has been working outstanding good for me.

This is a little off topic so I apologize.

I look at my Majestic profiles and see that I have over 1100 backlinks from a single domain. So this is an External domain with a bunch of backlinks what is the effect of that? Is there a point of diminishing returns on backlinks from the same External domain?
 
Internal Backlinks are much more powerful than meaning less automated backlinks generated using SEO Tools
 
I think internal linking is more important than backlinking and I have had success with it.

After all, if you don't like your pages enough to link to them from your own site then why should google like them and want to link to them from SERP.

Unless you get lucky and get some powerful backlinks that are real but internal linking is the easiest backlinks to get and if you use them smart you can signal some good semantic relevancy.
 
Internal links used for increase site density and the user can stay a long time with in your site by using it..But backlinks only will help for the rank
 
This is that moderate situation is always good.
If you have 100 links from external, you should have at least 40-50 links internally.
Google see both.

But keep in mind all links should come from quality website, pages or domain with different anchor text.
