Not sure about google bot but you could definitely help your users by linking them internally

It depends how interlinked your content is, Google is not a magician to pick up orphan pages as well. Also, they may choose not to index all pages if they are not unique enough. Internal linking as well as backlinks would always be helpful.

Internal interlinking is one of the key factors of search engine optimization and it shouldn`t be neglected.

Interlinking can give you nice result. Without it the result would be worse.

Thanks for the link. I have just read through it and i understand it a little more.
Now i don't want my site being spammy at all so how does this sound? What if i limit every product(page) of mine to one internal link pointing outwards? If i have more than 1 wouldn't it look bad in the search engine eyes?
For example if i have 3 sections, dog breeds, cat breeds, accessories.
When on dog breed one sales page i could at the bottom of the page say "please look at our cat breeds here" and link that to the cat breed section.
If i do something similar on every single sales page is that enough or too much?

internal linking is always beneficial.
will it help google crawl quicker? yes but its not that important.
will it help your seo efforts?
absolutely.

Internal linking is very important. Even though google bot may find all your pages in time and index them, with internal linking you control how much link juice you pass from one page to another, and to what pages, which help rankings, not to mention it gets you faster indexing. So do it.
